I agree that this photo looks like the gap is more than in post #21 of your car where your gap looks much less. Must be the shadowing?

275/40/19 = 27.66" overall 305/35/19 = 27.41" overall So the 305 is supposed to be shorter anyway and if you are using Nitto's for instance they usually are on the smaller side in all dimensions which would compound the difference a bit.

I did the same as some others and used a plastic trim removal tool. Popped off in seconds. No scratches and I didn't have to remove any body panels! Though I hear many people have misaligned panels from the factory so maybe it would be a good idea. :D
