The photo doesn't show up for some reason in his post but in many cases like this if you save the photo you can see it in the location you saved it to.
The prices for the S550 FI base packages aren't going to come down anytime soon unless some manufacturer decides to start a price war with the others.
You're cheapest entry besides a used S/C is getting one of the centrifugal base kits around black friday; where you might get 5-10% off.
You...
275/40/19 = 27.66" overall
305/35/19 = 27.41" overall
So the 305 is supposed to be shorter anyway and if you are using Nitto's for instance they usually are on the smaller side in all dimensions which would compound the difference a bit.
I agree; there is a lot of vibration that you don't really feel but it's enough to back the screws out even with the lock washers with teeth on them.
I haven't used mine much but I did apply some blue (non-permanent) Loctite to the threads and I'm betting it will hold fine.
There aren't many...
Those wheels look really good!
However, that rear tire is bulging a good amount and the fact they are fairly wide for that size is the reason.
I've seen 305/35/19 on RTR Tech 7 wheels with various performance radials on them and they fit flush with the fender.
Your cheapest option if you want...
Hmmm; I do love their auto shift knob replacement I bought months back.
This new auto shifter replacement needs some work. If you are switching from the stock auto shifter you are going from the dildo looking thing to this nipple on a stick thing. :D
Maybe if the top "nipple" was shorter and...
That's exactly what I did on my Magnetic GT. I also got a MMR decklid with no badge on it.
I wish the 5.0 and rear decklid emblem were only stick-on like on my older 'stangs.
I hate any badging on a car and remove all of it if I can; though I'm not crazy enough to get fenders w/o the holes in...
I did the same as some others and used a plastic trim removal tool. Popped off in seconds.
No scratches and I didn't have to remove any body panels!
Though I hear many people have misaligned panels from the factory so maybe it would be a good idea. :D
I agree, wouldn't want to give up that much TQ on a mostly street car.
Plus they did all this on an engine stand with flywheel #'s; most people would prefer to see this done on a running vehicle with before and after numbers at the wheels on a stock motor.
A track test would be nice as well to...
For someone who wants to keep the stock ride height you would need a taller tire like a 275/40 to fill that gap up.
A 285/35 is only going to be about 0.3" taller and a 285/35 is a more expensive tire to get into.
Any reason you want to keep the stock ride height? There are a few companies...
I have the FRPP touring on my 2015 GT A6 that the original owner put on and they do not drone at all.
However; they are quite a bit raspy which I personally could do without.
That sucks what happened especially now with their traditionally annual low stock of these wheels.
I know these people just grab and ship; totally inexcusable at about any price you paid.
You can try one of those scrub daddy pads or something similar. Who knows what that is on there?
I'd ask...
