  1. Locking Gas Cap?

Nope! Lock the doors and push on the gas door, it pops right open. BMW has a similar spring type door, but they have a pin that comes out into a hole in the gas door when you lock the car so it essentially locks the door. I wish ford had done something similar.
  2. Thoughts on getting a manual ecoboost after driving automatics all my life

Another vote for the stick shift! No hate towards the automatic, really just buy what you need or want, but the manual is so so so worth it. You're not even paying for the manual where as the automatic adds like 1500 to the MSRP. It just takes practice. Find a flat empty parking lot (local...
  3. What a long morning

The OEM spare is a 18" tire. I bought it and I have the 20" foundry wheels. If I get a flat on a rear I'll have to take a good tire from the front to put on the back and put the spare on the front. I read on here that different tire sized can damage the rear diff because it's a limited slip.
  4. What a long morning

By the way, If you have a discount tire in your area, you can buy repair certificates for all your tires even though you didn't buy those tires from them. That way if a patch won't fix it (like sidewall damage or too big of a puncture), a new tire will only cost you a new certificate. I think in...
  5. How reliable is the Coyote V8?

So far about 1,400 miles here and no oil consumption! From what i've heard/read, the current 5.0 Coyote is probably one of the best motors Ford has put out.
  6. Cylinder Head Temp

Highest I've seen is probably around 208-210F in Houston heat (95-100F) and stop and go traffic.
  7. Pony In The Grill

Did you photoshop that onto my car? Lol that actually looks hilarious. :D
  8. Pony In The Grill

Dipped all my badges. This is how mine turned out: And a guy at our meet has a mechanical pony!
  9. So I hydroplaned in a rainstorm on Wednesday

I guess there isn't much AdvanceTrac or ESC can do once you start to hydroplane? I thought it would help keep you from spinning out :(
  10. Houston S550s first meet pictures!

Maybe it was me :headbonk: Glad my photos didn't turn out like utter crap. I'm reallyyyyy happy with the photo I took of your car!
  11. Is this rust normal?

So I had a look at our Tundra and it doesn't have rust on it on the axles or the brake calipers and it has about 50k miles. Could be a ford thing? I noticed something similar on a recent F-150 too. The generation right before the aluminum trucks came out.
  12. Is this rust normal?

Not exactly man. I've had a Tacoma, Tundra, and Camry and they did not have this. The Camry I traded in had about 110k miles and it didn't have it either. I always have a look when I'm getting the tires rotated and rebalanced and I would've noticed surface rust on the calipers or axles. I could...
  13. Is this rust normal?

Alright thanks man! I saw those when they took off the tires and I was like
  14. Is this rust normal?

I noticed this at discount tire while I was getting my tire patched. Is this normal for such a new car? I've only got about 1,200 miles. Theres some on top of the rear caliper and where the axel/boot meet.
  15. Strange or Normal (Wheel areo curtains)

I have the 20" foundry wheels and mine are blocked off. That's weird, I never noticed that before until i read about it here.
  16. For the MT owners: how do you downshift?

Practice. I haven't perfected it yet myself, but that feeling when you nail it so smoothly you don't even notice the down shift is awesome. When I down shift (like say I'm going to make a turn) I can usually go into 2nd or 3rd from 6th or 5th. So as I'm about to turn the corner, shift into...
  17. Ford Blue Oval

None. Just on the small parts identifying the glass, and at the top of the windshield.
  18. A/C Is Killing My Car!?

I'm going to take a guess at the compressor too. Yes they do have a parasitic drag on the engine but it shouldn't be enough to affect idle THAT much or suck that much power out of your engine. Like someone said before, have someone cycle the A/C on and off while you watch the compressor. See...
  19. Rotars

I bought the 18" spare from ford and mine has the 20" wheels. If the puncture is small enough I'll use the tire repair kit. If it's too big and the puncture is in the rear tire I'll have to put the spare on the front and and the front's good tire to the back so I don't damage the rear diff...
  20. pics

It works for me and yes it's the same idea. I can do it all via Safari and upload pictures to imgur straight from the camera roll.
