    Maybe in your experience, but on one of my cars it ran slightly smoother after changing to a different brand. I use whatever works best not just by brand. My 99 is still going strong.

    You might want to try out the different oils that are specified for your car and see which one works better for you. Some engines just seem to run better with a particular brand of oil.

    Battery cover is not needed. Quite a few people don't use them.

    Assuming that the brakes were correctly reassembled you might just need some brake lube where the pistons press against the pads, either just on the end of the pistons or apply some on the area where the pistons contact the back of the brake pads.

    Never wait as long as the recommended intervals. I would also change at 60,000 miles. One of my Mustangs is over 20 yrs old and I've not yet had a transmission problem. I always use a shorter change cycle on all my fluids.
