Honestly it was just to be unique and I wanted run a 275 60 15. There are so many of these cars running the same wheels and the 305 45 17 DR set up that I wanted to separate from that look. I know no real performance gain is to be had. I went 1 .59 on my D5 17" set up off idle so I know that...
Finally, off the jack stands, 15" rear wheel conversion is done. Mac Fab bead locks and Weld craft made a not so common wheel selection work out nicely with the baer brakes. I spent a lot of time getting a wheel to work so I would'nt have another car sitting next to mine with the same wheels - I...
Also took the opportunity to install some differential support. Added the Steeda hard core bracket and bushings. I haven't driven the car yet to get a feel for the NVH but the bracket and bushings are supposed to add a bit but we will see.
Finally winter is moving out here in Michigan! Got the Baer ss4's all on. I will say to anyone thinking of these brakes, the steel crush washers sent with the brakes didnt seal well for me. I ordered some brass washer off amazon that worked much better. These are light brakes and saved appr...
Yeah I love the century on my a10 auto. What I had with my manual was a drop in boost at each gear change that ultimately left me regretting the style boost I choose for the car ( turbo vrs PD in a manual car).
@turnswrench / Solarflare - what's your opinions or thoughts on a centri with a manual car vrs PD? I ask for the ops benefit and my knowledge as well. I had a 2015 Camaro 1LE with the 6 spd and was coached heavily into a PD (whipple) and ignored it for twin turbos. A choice I regretted with a...
I installed a paxton 2200sl on my brothers 2019 and a Vortech v3sl on my 2019. Both being the exact same and were definitely not "Hard". Truthfully moving the radiator bracket and trimming the radiator closeout was the only real "fab" work. I would say everything else is basically the same...
Next up will be the trans - going to stay 10r80 and add clutches and a circle D N/A convertor as of now. Humoring the option of jumping up from the v3 head unit to a jt-b or maybe ysi ?? Wont make that decision until next winter is here and life settles down a bit. Anyone have thoughts on a...
In the spirit of cutting more weight I picked up a new set of wheels. Going to a 275 60 15 in the rear on a custom 15x9.2" bead lock wheel in the rear and a 17x5 in the front with 28"x6. ALSO Adding Bear front and rear drag brakes, BMR K member, steeda rear diff support, G Force axles and viking...
Well its been a long winter made even longer trying to build a house and work on toys in a storage locker. Added some LED lights to the storage unit so I can get back to this thing.
Did you end up with a convertor? My season left off at 10.2 at 144mph. doing some weight reduction etc. but deliberating on build the 10r or turbo 400 swap. Interested in what steps you took to get to mid nines from the 10.2ish.
OP- I went with a vortech v3 and installed the kit in my storage unit. Honestly the lethal triple pump fuel.system install was harder than the blower. I love the power delivery and street manors with the a10. Now the mistake I made in the past was following the heard and doing a twin turbo set...
I did run at the track with the 3.33 and e85. Went 10.2 at 144 with a 1.59 60. Had an issue with the car cutting power imediatly after launch. Bent an axle too.
