Boost is relative as just referencing boost negates v/e ...
That being said, the blower puts out a lot of heat. When Im sitting in stop and go traffic even with an intercooler I dont like my temps.
I tried running my M3 (Much higher compression than these motors ) at 4.5psi without an...
Not necessarily. I could run my car of 5 different dynos on 5 different days, and I bet I could easily see a 60whp difference.
You're in the right "range" so to speak. If you were making 500 I'd say there was something up. - Theres a reason I only run my car at 50deg and 0% humidity : I...
This is not accurate. You can see gains with meth n/a. More importantly than gains, you will see better consistency. Even if you're not tuning for more power you are at least afforded a better safety margin.
So, I have the ProChager HO Kit ... upgraded with the Stage 2 Intercooler.
I want more power: ~700-750whp
1)Is this possible on 91oct on a D1?
2)Can I just switch head units or do I need to go to the independent drive "Stage 2" setup? Is staying shared drive a bad idea?
3)What other...
On what centri, turbo, etc. kit is this not a possibility? This is sort of an age old FI issue in terms of a "possibility".
Exactly. "Adjusts their couplers for a better fit." i.e. they were not fit correctly in the first place.
PSA : If you dont fit intercooler couplers correctly, under...
Sure ... do you see my point though? Starting a "PSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thread over a coupler coming off on a boosted car is a little bit silly ... especially because there arent 50 other people chiming in with the same problem. This kit has been out long enough, and run on enough cars, that given...
Someone doesnt know how to use their dyno properly ... thats why. (Or was just being lazy) This is not re-scaled correctly, or the run was not setup properly ... hp/tq would cross at 5250rpm if this was run correctly.
This does NOT necessarily mean that your numbers are inaccurate -per-se ...
8500 miles on my setup and I have not had a coupler come loose. Im not sure this is exactly "PSA" Worthy.
You had a coupler come off ... it may have been trimmed by the installer ... it may not have been lined up correctly ... it may not have been tightened adequately.
Sorry for not updating this. I've been dealing with some extremely unexpected health issues, and just have not had the energy.
I'll get back to this thread with some pictures, updates, etc.
But the short update:
I now have about 5000 miles on the Pro Charger setup, and am extremely pleased...
My car, before and after, same dyno:
185whp gained. On the Complete HO Kit with the Stage 2 intercooler. ProCharger canned tune - at (essentially) sea level. No other modifications made to the car, running piss poor 91oct.
The kit installed EXTREMELY easily for me (Initial review here...
ProChargers tune leaves the cars knock sensor active ... either:
1)You are experiencing an issue different from the rest of us.
2)You are confusing what the rest of us are experiencing (Timing pull from +-2600rpm-4000rpm at partial throttle) with spark knock.
3)Your terminology is...
You should only concern yourself with afr at wot. As throttle input increases afr should fall.
I personally find the on board reading to have a minor delay relative to an aftermarket offering such as an AEM
