Yep. The Mishi kit for the EB has it mounted in front of the rad.
I moved it down to the lower drivers side, venting into the wheel well.
It's just too small. But, my coolant temps were too high as well, so hopefully the hood vent solves the problem.
There's a lot of info in this thread regarding oil coolers. I'll defer to GT owners as to the absolute best approach for the V8. But I think in the end, it's more about getting cooling air into, and out of, the radiator, i.e., ducting and venting. If you can keep the coolant temps down, the...
Interesting. Are you able to run flat out for 20 min without coolant or oil temp issues? Do you have any cooling mods? My car, with stock tune (larger intercooler), Mishimoto rad and oil cooler, plus ducting for the rad and oil cooler, can't run flat out for more than a couple laps before...
Ditto. I used an A-pillar pod to mount it. Works fine. This gauge confirmed that the little Mishi oil cooler appears to have minimal effect on actual oil temp, at least in an Ecoboost.
Exactly. Race Louvers has some wind tunnel videos showing the heat extraction. They make different versions. The street version has all the louvers flush with the hood.
Yes, for sure. In 2018, it was snowing on the first day of the event. I use the Track Addict app, and do record video. Unfortunately, since it's the free version, I don't think I can download the video from my phone. I can get lap times in the low 2:40s, but that is shifting at 5K (stock...
I hope this hood vent will finally solve my coolant/oil temp issues at track days. The larger rad, oil cooler, and ducting wasn't enough, so I'm hoping this does the trick. Road America, 4/29-5/1...fingers crossed!
(and why is the EB oil filter so damn little - has anyone attempted to use a larger/longer filter can??)
I can't say for certain, but I suspect most modern cars use comparatively smaller filters than were used 40-50 years ago. Modern engines run cleaner and have tighter tolerances, which...
I have a 2018 EB coupe and 2017 GT vert. Sure, the vert is a little noisier than the coupe, but not bad at all. AC and heat work great in the vert. As you probably know, all the GT verts are premium trim, so you get the heated/cooled seats too (heating works better than the cooling).
Yep. And you're not even supposed to store them in sub-freezing temps. I reached out to Goodyear to inquire about storing them in an unheated space (during Chicago winters). They advised against it. So to the basement they went!
Although Shadow277 is in AZ...that helps a bit.
I just ordered a set of Kuhmo Ectsa V730s, 305/30-19. I ran Supercar 3Rs for the last two seasons and they were great. But I wanted something in the 200 TW category (at least a little more longevity!), and the regular Supercar 3s are on backorder. So we'll see how the Kuhmos fare. Anyone...
Yeah, I was not thrilled with the rivnuts. But I guess there isn't a lot of "clean looking" options for attaching it to the rear wing. Thanks for the feedback.
I got the Scott Drake front splitter for PP cars. While it is described as applicable to both GT and EB PP cars, I can attest to the fact that it does not simply bolt on to a EB PP car. None of the holes lined up. Not sure why that is. The front chin spoilers on both GT and EB PP look the...
Anyone have any experience with this EMP wicker bill spoiler for 2018+ PP cars? I installed this with a front splitter on my DD/HPDE car. Just wondering how well it held up to high speed track duty.
