I posted about this a couple weeks ago. Makes complete sense for VMP, since Whipple has keys to the castle and it seems almost no one else will receive them.
VMP partnered with Roush for the 2.3 blower on the gen 2s, but did not re-up the casting and instead started pushing the 2650. (Honestly...
Good gravy! You should be able to get that into the 1.1s and really get after it. With that weight, you should be able to crack 6s with a better 60' and getting down to a sub 4.5 1/8.
God dawm. FFRE builds stout motors. Working with Brett's crew is a good place to be. What is your weight? You are chopping down at potentially 6s....who said that?
Ever since VMP was late to the Gen 3 market, I think they realized that partnering with manufacturers and simply branding their products as their own is the key. They are focusing on ancillary products (TBs, ice tanks, other things, etc.) rather than superchargers. Once they let go of the 2.3...
Hearing rumors circulating that VMP may be announcing a partnership where they will begin seller Whipple superchargers.
Maybe their partnership with Magnuson proved to them that developing in-house blowers isn't where the money is. Perhaps we will see a private label Whipple or VMP will become...
voodoo gen 3? someone smarter than me can talk about harnesses and computers, but as far as I know, if it mates up, technically it should work if the heads bolt on. The heads and cams dictate the computer, not the short block.
But, voodoo gen 3?
David Van Voris and Aldowelds are currently having a dick swinging battle to see who can go deepest in the 7s with a stock sealed gen 3. Pretty. Fucking. Impressive, too.
I was not willing to give up the valve option. My wife will not ride in the car in loud mode, and I wont give up those fun car rides with her.
I ordered ARH's long system with no cats, but WITH resonators, and that will be paired to the stock mufflers (retaining valves). I am hoping the sound...
From my perspective, the GT350 sounds great. The previous owner of my car put a very cheap resonator delete x-pipe on it with booger welds, so I knew that had to go.
My car will be boosted, so I bit the bullet and got ARH headers without cats, since those were leaving anyways. Those headers...
I did not get my 350 for the drag strip. Drag racing a GT350 is dumb: the clutch will literally explode, the TR3160 does not like gorilla shifting, there is no low end torque, and the suspension is tuned for the compete opposite of that. Sure, you can make a GT350 a fast 1/4 mile car. But that...
