  1. Totaled Not Totaled?

I’ve been with USAA for over 25 yrs and have received nothing but outstanding response and customer service from the insurance/claims staff. Your son is in good hands with USAA. They will do the right thing.
  2. Ford reducing total platforms to 5, one RWD unibody, new Explorer will be RWD...

Thanks. I did not know it was going to that totally hardcore in base trim. I’m glad!:ford:
  3. Ford reducing total platforms to 5, one RWD unibody, new Explorer will be RWD...

? Please enlighten me. Forgot Bronco was Ranger based:doh: Was I painfully off-“base” with something else? I can take it!!:headbonk:
  4. Ford reducing total platforms to 5, one RWD unibody, new Explorer will be RWD...

Hard to know, but it would make sense because certainly the base Bronco will be RWD with optional 4WD. Check out the draped Bronco “silhouette” on Bronco6g. Looks pretty cool with the right proportions and large wheel openings. Ford will be offering many dealer-installed factory modifications...
  5. Ford reducing total platforms to 5, one RWD unibody, new Explorer will be RWD...

For it’s new Explorer-based SUV, Lincoln is reviving the “Aviator” nameplate. I suspect it will be released along side the 2019 RWD Explorer.
  6. Ford reducing total platforms to 5, one RWD unibody, new Explorer will be RWD...

Yep, this is not “new information” Agree with the Lincoln “Explorer” rather than Lincoln coupe. Sure would like to see a coupe though, but it wouldn’t sell in great enough numbers to justify production.
  7. 2020 GT500 TEASER

My thoughts exactly... I’d rather have a larger grill opening than say, some hideous hood scoop. The grill opening looks well defined, but I think the lack of any clear bumper, grill and intake details presented was intentional... This is a teaser...to keep us all guessing. Adding some...
  8. 2019 Ford Mustang brings California Special, rev-matching and more

Not to be overly dramatic...but this CS makes me physically ill. Looks like a JC Whitney special. The wheels are a joke.
  9. 2019 GT500 Mustang New Spy Video, Pics, Info

    Maybe it’s the super-secret, mid-engine GT500...:headbonk:
  10. "Venom Kills Demons" - Jim Owens (Ford Performance Marketing Manager)

I wonder when the decision was made to equip the GT500 exclusively with the DCT, rather than use a manual or the A10. Maybe the lack of availability of the DCT for certification and engine/driveline/calibration performance testing may be one factor involved in the perceived delay...? Perhaps...
  11. 3.15 vs 3.55 in snow or slippery condition

Go 3.55 and just use good common sense when driving in snowy and icy conditions. My ass-light Fox body Mustangs had 3.73s and I drove them without incidents or accidents through many NJ winters. You will be fine.
  12. "Venom Kills Demons" - Jim Owens (Ford Performance Marketing Manager)

Agreed. I was just purely guessing about a manual being available as much as speculating about a Track Pack package being offered. Hopefully, the DCT will provide enough of a palpable sense of driver engagement and vehicle control to satisfy the desires and needs of all interested buyers.
  13. "Venom Kills Demons" - Jim Owens (Ford Performance Marketing Manager)

Seems to me that Ford will engineer, build and market the GT500 as a true dual-purpose machine with the capability to compete and excel in both track and drag strip environments. It also must be an acceptable car to drive on the street. I suspect there may be both track and drag focused...
  14. Question on turning in lease with aftermarket wheels

So yeah... You didn’t own the car. The wheels were not “yours” to sell. Hope it works out...
  15. Borla resonator

I have the Borla Touring cat-back...it includes the resonated h-pipe, and IMHO, the sound is just right. I highly recommend the Borla resonator.
  16. Will the GT500 Have a DCT

And the F Series, Expedition, Navigator and...(just my speculation)perhaps Explorer? Production demand for the A10 will be huge. The GT500 is a halo vehicle and deserves a halo transmission.:first: Edit: Clarification of above. Hoping by some miracle that the next generation Explorer rides...
  17. Will the GT500 Have a DCT

While certainly not the smartest guy in the room, I suggested in a 8/24/17 post that the next GT500 may only be offered with an automatic. A6, A10, DCT...I didn’t know. It just seemed like common sense.
  18. Anyone care that a gt500 is coming?

There has never been any suggestion that a new 427 CID engine was ever going to be being produced. The new 7.0 L truck engine is not going into the Mustang. And I don’t mean to be picky but, why would Ford put a 427 into a Boss “429” ?
