It’s taken a while for me to process this announcement from Ford.
Ford is and has been a truck company...no doubt about it...F-Series is the cash cow.
Ford also makes some very fine truck based and car based SUVs/CUVs.
I get the CUV thing...we drive an MKX and MKC...great multipurpose...
I have the Borla Touring cat-back (resonated h-pipe), imho...it’s just perfect.
Cold starts are deep and muscular...a substantial improvement over stock.
Then it settles down to a nice burble.
On the road, it’s very smooth and enjoyable, but when you give it some pedal, the sound picks up to a...
I also have the Borla Touring cat-back.
Deep, muscular sound...but not obnoxious.
Definitely does not sound anywhere near stock.
No drone ever.
And no rasp!!
The resonated h-pipe is the key component of this system.
Remote cold starts just make me smile.
I would probably buy anything designed by Kemal Curic!!
Regarding the Aviator, my local Ford dealer is building a new Lincoln showroom.
My wife works at the dealership and I strongly suggested to her that the Aviator will be a grand slam.
It is stunning...and just what Lincoln needed to compete...
Obtain quotes from a few different shops and demand OEM replacement parts.
Because of the need to satisfy a more sophisticated customer who has high expectations and pride in the appearance of their vehicle, find a shop that specializes in high-end luxury cars and exotics. The...
IMHO...I believe the overall size, dimensions and weight of next generation Mustang could and should be relatively comparable to specifications the of the ‘65-‘68 models.
The ‘65-‘66 cars offered a compact front end design with relatively little overhang.
The ‘67-‘68 models offered a real...
It was enthusiasts like us who prevented the ‘89 Mustang from becoming the ‘89 Probe.
Not there was anything wrong with the Probe, it served it’s purpose, but if the enthusiast outcry didn’t happen to save the rear wheel drive V8 Mustang, none of us would be having any of these discussions on...
Looks killer!
Powerful and purposeful.
Can’t wait until a video with audio gets posted to hear the sweet sounds blasting from those bad-ass quad tips...and the DCT banging through the gears.
The full reveal with confirmation of complete model(s) lineup details, specifications and hp/tq output...
Strongly agree.
Hackett totally buys into Ford’s current desire and future goal to transform itself into a “mobility company”.
Obviously, he takes his orders from directly Bill Ford and the Ford BOD.
Assuming that Hackett can makes this new corporate vision happen, he will become Ford’s new...
Must have been pissed-off, easily irritated or generally cranky about something.
Not my usual MO.
Sorry to waste members time over a generally perceived non-issue.
Apologies to all.
So let’s get back to talking about Ford performance!
It’s really about a self-inflated ego and the need to prove one’s opinions and experiences are more relevant and deserve much more attention than anyone else’s.
Personally, I probably stopped writing with colors in about 1969, when I was six.
My wife and I did the Florida thing for about 3 years.
Lived in very South Bradenton between SR 70 and University Parkway, 3 miles West of I75.
Check out the planned community of “Lakewood Ranch”, located on I75 N.
The community has its own school district.
SR 70 and/or University Parkway exits...
Best bet is to attend your local Cars and Coffee/ Caffeine and Octane type event.
That way you can listen to a variety of exhaust systems: X-pipe/H-pipe cat-backs and various combinations of axle-backs with factory resonators, X-pipes, H-pipes, deletes, etc.
Listen to as many aftermarket setups...
The S197 “Track Pack” was a solid overall performance and handling upgrade over the standard GT...and a terrific bargain as well.
For 2018, the standard GT should have based on the PP1 package.
The PP2 package should have been the only optional performance/handling option offered.
Marketing...
