I can say for sure, as an auto engineer, that in an ideal world 1 radiator would be sufficient.
I'm sure there was a push for this design which, when paired with the other constraints of the system, lead to the 3 radiator design being necessary.
Again, ideally, 1 would be enough. 3...
Shots fired! Everybody get down!
EDIT*
Just wanted to add...I think you two should each build a stock block 2.3l and see who's is fastest.
Same suspension, same weight, same tires, and even....a tamed racing driver...
This is the main reason it's not worth 2 grand.
I can see the first to market companies trying to charge a couple grand because some people just don't know any better and would spend that kind of money.
The fact is an exhaust housing is the only thing "special" about this turbo. I see...
Can someone explain what is so special about the housing on the turbo pictured above? Doesn't look like anything special.
My first turbo kit was a T25 flange mated to a crx hf exhaust manifold. Used an adapter plate. Would this really be much more complicated than that?
From my experience blue smoke is either from a turbo with blown seals or from ingesting oil through the intake system.
Good way to tell would be to check the DP and intake and see if there is residue built up on either.
Hopefully it's nothing big.
That's interesting. Not used to BOV's used like that but I've also never owned an OEM turbo vehicle lol
Is this how all ecoboost engines are? Or is the 2.3 (and 2.7 since they're both newer) unique?
Fair enough. I like to assume the worst when I talk to people (who I don't know) about turbos...hear too many people say things like "I'm runnin like 18 psi so that makes it faster than your 10 psi" when they have a 0.48 trim turbo on a 1.6.
Turbos4life:cheers:
Anyone got a video?
I guess if they use an electronic BOV it could regulate boost...but it seems a bit redundant given the wastegate.
It would make sense though, the stock intake probably has a good deal of work into it to dampen the wooshy noises so people don't think their engine is...
Were there fake power numbers? I mean...if you post fake stuff to try to make a sale...I have little sympathy for you when it bites you.
That said, if there wasn't any solid proof then there should have been serious moderation.
I'm sure the moderation will improve as the forum...
