Clean them anyway. Mine didn't appear to be stiff or dirty, and cleaning definitely helped.

There might be laws about what has to be displayed on an instrument cluster. So, liability wise, Ford, or any company might be leery to do this. Plus, the market is probably tiny.

Cyanlabs totally works. Not only did I update Sync for the Mustang, I updated it for my Lincoln as well.

Same in Illinois. Salt everywhere. Drive the Mustang once a week to keep the battery up.

That bezel is pretty rare on ebay, I was never able to find one. So I just have some buttons that don't do anything. That might bother some people, but I can live with it. My thread about upgrading the infotainment unit.

Probably too small, and awful in the winter, but I had a few Fiesta STs. Fun as hell. Perhaps a Fusion Sport?

I removed a 4 inch screen to upgrade to the 8 inch with sync 3. I'm trying to remember if I left the existing cables/harness in place.

I painted the grill of a Pontiac once. Used a spray paint that required baking the grill in the oven for a bit. Worked rather well, but probably not appropriate for this application. I think it was some sort of engine paint (this was over a decade ago).
