  1. Gas Mileage: Why does Mustand Ecoboost get 30+ MPG and 2.3 Boosted Explorer Gets 23 MPG?

The new Ranger with the same basic drivetrain as the Ecoboost Mustang is in the same boat at the Explorer as far as MPG comparison. Here is one that should be closer to apples to apples but is not: 2018 2.0T FWD A/T Fusion EPA: 21/31/25 MPG 2016 2.3T RWD M/T Mustang EPA: 22/31/25 MPG Window...
  2. Rant time...what's the worst thing about your Mustang?

The aluminum hood that starts corroding after two winters, just like all 2005-up Mustangs. The paint started bubbling on the driver side front corner of my 2011 after 2 winters and so did my 2016 in the same area. They need to switch back to a composite / fiberglass hood like the '94-04...
  3. CJ Pony Parts Forum Discount Code

I had a code from 2018 another forum that no longer works and have some stuff to buy. Can I please get the forum discount code ?? Thanks, Doug
  4. Traction Control?

I'm thinking Kevin Hart wishes his '70 'Cuda had some sort of AdvanceTrac. Doug
  5. '

I've hauled 17 & 13 FT. ladders at the same time in it. 17' fits in through trunk opening (would only go in though passenger door with my 2011) and 13' fits across back seat ...
  6. UPR DVCC - Not a drop (RESOLVED)

For my UPR DVCC drain, I used: 1/4 NPT x 3/8 NPT Brass Hex Nipple 3/8" Brass Ball Valve 3/8" NPT to 3/8" Hose Nipple 21.5" long length of 3/8" fuel line Then zip-tie the end of the hose to the lower frame rail. Stick a container under the end of the hose and open the ball valve. Leave it sit...
  7. Winter tire strategy help needed

Get a set of USED or TAKE-OFF 18x8" factory rims and get snows to fit. The 18" wheels will fit over stock EB-PP brakes and 18" snows are cheaper than 19". You can use either 235/50-18 (27.3" Dia.), 225/55-18 (27.7" Dia.), or 225/60-18 (28.6" Dia.) Snows ... vs 27.03" dia. for PP 255/40-19...
  8. OEM Ford accessories: Lighted sill plates UPDATE: Installed

No one that I know of ... you would have to buy the plugs and terminals to mate with the sill plates and make your own harness. I planned on doing this because my 2011 had them, so I bought a pair of take-offs before I took delivery of my car then did some research and found where to buy the...
  9. anyone else not like the Base Cloth GT seat? and seating position

I drive 400 miles a week including two 2.5 hours stints. I love my cloth seats in my base 2016 EB ... much more comfortable than the leather seats in the Premium 2011 V6 I had before and also like them better than the leather seats in a 2015 Premium EB I rented for a week before ordering my...
  10. The "what things weigh thread."

Stock: 6.58 LBS. (from my 2016). vs the one I installed ... Mishimoto IC: 19.66 lbs. (added 13.08 lbs.) Doug
  11. Focus SE vs Mustang GT Driveability

I've got a 2016 Ecoboost with the stock 18" wheels & 235/50-18 Goodyear tires. Hit a retread on the interstate early October that did $2500 in damage so I ended up driving my son's 2013 Focus SE (215/55-16 tires) for 5 weeks until it finally got fixed. After 400 miles a week I can say the...
  12. Boss 302 Shift Knob fits MGW in S550 perfectly !!

UPDATE ... As I said earlier, I really liked the feel of the Boss 302 shift knob much better than the MGW supplied knob and had been using it ever since the install last October. However there is no lock-nut, knob just so happens to tighten down so pattern pretty much faced the right way...
  13. OAR deviation concern

Run Stage 1 93 tune on 91 octane fuel you you will likely have the same results as running 91 on the stage 0 tune. Run Stage 1 91 tune on 91 octane fuel and you should see -1.00 just as you see running 93 on the 93 tune. Doug
  14. OAR deviation concern

I noticed that on my car too. Here is my take ... "Stage 0" is basically emulating the stock Ford Tune which will tune all the way to 93 Octane. Since you are running 91, it will not go all the way to -1.00. I normally run Ethanol free 91 and E10 93 is also available. I ran Stage 0...
  15. 2018 Ford Mustang Interest Poll

No option in the poll for me ... I keep my Stangs 5 or 6 years and I've had my 2016 only 15 months. If I were in the market, I could live with the changes. Not too keen on the price hike if I were to want something equivalent to what I've got now. To get a Base EB equipped the way mine...
  16. 2018 Mustang Order Guide

Per page 8, the 673 pkg will be available with the $2000 301A pkg. which is still base ... maybe not 300A base ... but also not Premium which is $4000 more. Interestingly, on the Premium model it is only available with the 401A package which forces you to shell out another $2200. So...
  17. 2018 Mustang Order Guide

Base 100A EB no longer has Power Front Seats or Fog Lamps and is back to 17" wheels (like 2015) ... kinda thought they might do this to try and get closer to the old V6 price point. Fog Lamps are not listed on 101A either, so it appears they are a Premium EB & GT only feature. Doug
  18. 2018 Mustang Order Guide

CLOTH RECARO OPTION is gone for base model EB & GT. Hinted that they are either optional or included with GT PP-L2 on page 21 but that is the only mention of them. Doug
  19. Parts for stock BPV?

I searched for a complete replacement valve a while back after putting the DV+ parts in mine and pretty much came up with nothing. I did not break anything, just figured having a spare complete stock valve would be nice. As far as finding just that one "part" separately, I'm betting NO. For...
  20. Which cargo net?

You can also use an SN-95 style / Ford # F5CZ-54550A66-AA or equiv ... Grabbed the Cargo Net out of my 2011 that I had originally bought when my 2004 was new. It is the kind that goes between 2 points, unlike the 2015-16 one that grabs 4 points right at the back of the trunk. I like this...
