Hey thanks for the feedback. Yeah I'm well aware of the $/HP ratio is better with a power adder, but just trying to see if a budget build can get me into enough power that I can be happy with.
The GT350 manifold is marginally better, but a lot more money, so going with an 18+ IM is on track for...
Going on 5 years of GT ownership and will have some more time/money next winter for a small build.
Has anyone documented the results from a 18+ intake manifold, 18+ stock CAI, long tube headers and a tune with actual track times? Preferably a MT82 car.
I'm debating those mods vs biting the...
I bought mine brand new about 600 miles away, flew out in the morning, left dealer around noon and had one the best first drives home that same day. Plenty comfortable and quiet on the road.
Anyone else notice some wonky pricing for Boss 302 intake manifolds? I see it on certain sites for around $200 USD. Is that for real? Did Ford drop the price?
If so, worth it at this price over a 2018+ intake manifold on a '17 GT?
Interesting...didn't realize there was readily available courses and books....things sure have changed in the last 20 years when it comes to DIY tuning.
Honestly, I don't think I have the patience any more at my age. My time is already spread thin with work and other life "things". Probably...
Just reached out to a local tuner to get the ball rolling. E85 is not readily available for me, so no go there. I think I'd prefer keeping the IMRC functionality, if the local tuner is comfortable with that.
How hard is it to tune for this platform with HP tuners? I did my own ECU tuning back...
I already have a stock 18+ air intake assembly sitting in my garage, so that will be going on as well if/when I make the switch to the 18+ intake manifold. But got it, I keep my 15-17 TB. Thanks!
I might get a used 18+ intake manifold later this week. I am in Canada, which tuner is willing to remote tune for new intake. I would buy a SCT X4 as well. I also have a 18+ air intake that I would install along with the manifold.
Or do any tuners have OTS tunes for this setup?
Currently I...
This might a promising "budget" kit. Just needs injectors and a tune. There is a thread with users about to install...I'll follow along and see how it goes

Do you mean gearing? I've considered going 3.55s
Along with headers and 18+ intake manifold, should be a decent bump in power and feel, just not sure it will quest my thirst...aren't we always looking for more power?
Hey thanks for all the feedback.
Just a few points. I am not a "noob" to the car, drag or modified car scene. Been at it for 30+ years on older muscle cars.
I considered nitrous, but not enough to make the leap. Never was a huge fan of it, coming back from the days when most people were...
Ok, I am sure this is a common question, but its not easy digging through all the posts to find a solid answer.
What is the preferred power adder setup for a street car that will see occasional drag strip use.
Not looking to go all out, just a decent bump in power from stock, but emphasis on...
Preaching to the choir brother...been storing my summer ride for 30 years, either a car or a motorcycle or both.
These days I actually hibernate 2 summer rides, my Mustang and a BMW cabrio.
Luckily we have a Subaru and Audi Q5 for the winter! So different fun!
Clutch in, press button, fires right up. I don't believe I hold the button, but its so automatic to me that I never really paid attention.
'17 GT Premium.
more likely due to the stop adjusters for the hood on the radiator support. Mine were badly adjusted from delivery of my car. It took me about 2 minutes to adjust and that also eliminated all the highway hood flutter
About a week ago I ended up next to a Stinger GT at a stop light. Despite the horrible traction in the cooler temps, I managed to stay within a fender through 1st and pulled away easily in 2nd still spinning.
Shifted into 3rd and let up, but if this was a full 1/4 mile I’d continue pulling away...
