  1. Went to go look at an S650 at local dealership

While I have yet to see a S650 in person I just don't get all the hate for it. My car will never go down a 1/4 mile and 99% of other peoples cars won't go down one either. So who really cares if it's half a second slower. It's still a damn fast car and anyone who plans on racing it will most...
  2. Speedometer not accurate

Every vehicle built the speedometer reads faster than what the car is going. Corporate lawyers instituted that decades ago so people can't sue the manufacture over speeding tickets. Plus as your tires wear down the distance per revolution is shorter so the speedometer doesn't take that into...
  3. 2020 Mustang GT Oil Consumption

Whatever you do, DO NOT drive it home from the dealer and dump out the oil that's in the engine so you can replace it with the most expensive full synthetic out there. Let it break in with the oil the factory put in. I think a lot of the oil consumptions problems start when the owner doesn't let...
  4. Mustang Dark Horse "market adjustments"

Blaming a dealership for adding an extra markup is like blaming a waitress for accepting a tip. As long as there's more people willing to pay it than there are cars available this will not end. We seem to be in a time that everything is in short supply and when that happens money talks.
  5. That Stangmode guy ran an S650 A10 in the 1/4 mile - either car is slow or he cant drive

Is it just me or has anyone else wondered where these youtube idiots get the money to buy all these cars? It seems like most of them have a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of cars sitting around. Can you make that much off youtube clicks?
  6. 2022 First Oil Change Today.......

Only thing I will add is the filter wrench I use from Harley Davidson works great on the Mustang. A 3/8" ratchet extension fits into the square hole and you can set it so the extension comes in over the cross member and doesn't interfere with anything you're using as a funnel to direct the oil...
  7. Not driving much - oil change?

The two biggest reasons to change the oil is dirt and moisture, time is not high on the list. If the engine never warms up and stay hot long enough to evaporate the moisture it gets acidic and becomes a big problem. If you take it for a long drive about once a month that should not be an issue...
  8. 2018 Mustang GT Overheated

Not sure about that. How about you dump the coolant out of your own car and take it for a 20 minute drive and post up the results.
  9. 2018 Mustang GT Overheated

Keep an eye on the oil to see if any water is getting in. That would be a sign of a leaking head gasket/warped head. I can't see anything else getting damaged in that short of time.
  10. Question on trading in a FI mustang

It would be interesting to see if the dealer would even keep the car and try to sell it on their lot. Most dealers warranty used cars for a certain period of time and they may not want to if they aren't sure about the quality of the mods. Most likely they would run it through a wholesale...
  11. Odd single metallic “knock” occasionally on startup

Mine does it to. It's been discussed here many times. The theory is the noise comes when the transmission pump pressurizes the system and the clunk is all the space between gears banging together. I always back into my driveway so when it happens to me I also have the rear end gears switching...
  12. Failed Emissions Today

I've been following this thread with some interest. I admit I know nothing about the computer systems in these cars but thought some of what's posted seems a bit over the top. So I looked in my (2019) owners manual and it says after changing the battery let the car idle for at least 1 minute and...
  13. Anyone read this ridiculous article?

Anytime somebody starts mentioning their competitor in their advertising they've already lost. If you're confident in the product you sell you should sell it on merit, mentioning the other guy is admitting you're number two.
  14. Are these cylinder head temps high?

https://www.vehicleservicepros.com/service-repair/the-garage/article/21182563/diagnosing-fords-cylinder-head-temperature-cht-sensor This is all I could find online. It does note that it was published 10 years ago so things may have changed since then. But it claims the sensor is measuring...
  15. Are these cylinder head temps high?

So what is the CHT actually measuring? Is it water temperature in the head? Oil temp in the head? Or the aluminum casting itself? And if it's the casting, where in the head? I'm sure the combustion chamber would read a lot hotter than cam shaft supports would.
  16. Road Trip Advice

I know your trip is over but I remember about 40 years ago me and a buddy were through that way and we camped near the Oregon Caves and did the tour there. I would see those if you have the chance in the future.
  17. Added HP with Active Exhaust?

My bet is they all have 486 hp but the non active exhaust is restrictive enough to lose those 6 hp. Nobody is going to notice the difference except those who think if it's making more noise then it must be making more power.
  18. Throttle House S650 review- first 30 seconds nailed it

I think the numb steering feel is the result of the every increasing tire widths. There is a lot of threads here discussing how bad these cars tramline due to the front tire width. Imagine having the wheel ripped out of your hands when hitting a rut in the middle of a tight curve while...
  19. Where’s the TPMS screen ?

In the video he's wrong when he says that blank screen in the trip/fuel menu is turning it off. If you are using GPS for navigation that screen is where you get full turn by turn instructions.
  20. Automatic shifting really harshly in Sport mode

Would you happen to have the number of that tsb?
