I bought the extended warranty and thought I'd have to pay the $100 deductible, BUT it was FOC!
The new injectors/labor/loaner car were all covered under powertrain warranty (which ends at 60k).
That sounds exactly like what mine was doing only upon cold starts PLUS a rough idle.
I changed spark plugs which only helped a bit.
My CEL eventually came on a couple hundred miles after the sound started, and the code it was throwing was oxygen sensor related.
Took it to Ford, they did some...
Man, If I didnt care about my warranty (I bought the extended one), I would tune my car in a heart beat. Its AMAZING how just a tune can get you down to 5.1 sec.
Yeah, I never claimed to be knowledgeable in the matter.
I just know that they tell you the peak power (hp/tq) the car is making at that time, since weather/DA and what not, will play a role.
Like anything, its just a tool to get a baseline. The only point I was trying to get at, based on...
Unfortunately, dealers work with that CEL.
When I had my purge valve replaced, I was the one who mentioned it. I told them that I did some research and that some people mentioned changing it, so they did it lol. You can either take it to them (they should do it FOC as they did for me), or change...
Thats more like it.
The one I saw of a '16 ecoboost auto on 92 octane doing 272 hp was from speedfactory....
Most seem to range from 260-265hp.
A 25% TOTAL loss would include the loss of 87 octane + RWD , and dammit that's a lot LOL.
From what I've read, on 87 octane crank is 275 hp with a...
I forgot to include that. Puzzling because I've always made sure to pump top tier and 93 octane, I pump mainly at Shell and BP.
Now, since I bought it CPO with 10k, I have NO idea what the previous owner pumped. It was not a rental car.
Just my input, I had my evap purge valve replaced under warranty ( inexpensive, anyway), after reporting rpm drops after fueling up and also some random rpm drops at a stop... started at around 43k miles.
I also replaced spark plugs myself.
My problem came back and CEL light came on at around...
Im no expert lol but I doubt that there is a 25% loss in an auto. I've seen dyno charts of auto '16 EB making 272 hp...that will vary obviously, most range around 255-265 hp. The ones I see with 230 hp, I just assume its with 87 octane. My car pulls harder than one that weighs 3600 lbs and has...
My thoughts exactly. That MUST be with 87 octane.
It would be an INSANE amount of loss. On 93 octane we should be making closer to 260 WHP.
That is why I WILL NEVER use regular gas on this car lol...
I've read mixed reviews about the fitment. I personally did not have any fitment issues, some that did take it to a shop with a successful install, and some return it. I THINK most fitment issues are when they try to install in the convertible. As for quality, Ive had mine for a bit over a year...
That'd be awesome, the Mustang ST with those specs, Id trade my '16 in a heartbeat..
They badged the explorer ST and the Edge ST, they should come with a Mustang ST...
I've had the the MBRP race in my '16 ecoboost for a bit over a year. First ever after market exhaust I ever put in a car, I can tell you that, at first, I DID worry a bit about the drone (probably because I was not used to any...), but after a while, maybe 200 miles, either I got used to it or...
Very interesting. I really hope they do stick with the 10 speed for the hybrid instead of a CVT.
Could it be that maybe the hybrid will MATCH the v8 in performance but be the "efficient" one? I think it would sell very well.
I hope they up the power to the current ecoboost that would become the...
What do you guys think about the possible addition to the mustang line up? Apparently Ford is adding another 2.3T to the line that will deliver more power than the current one but less than the V8, price wise somewhere in the middle. Power wise it would surpass the the 335 hp in the camaro v6...
NICE!
What gearing did your 2018 come with?
I hear some people with the 2018s getting 6s+ and IM like HOWWWWW?!
I know they are capable of at least mid low 5, damn then, you can make yours even faster...thats exciting lol
I have yet to see 2018s modded and #s they run.
I don't have a tune but I think getting a IC is a must in this car for CONSISTENT performance.
As for what tune, that is up to you.
1. How important is your warranty? if important, FP tune (idk if out yet for the 18s tho). Im sure those tuned will give you recommendations.
2. How fast do you...
Yeah, that's the reason I asked. Found out the the airbox is fine but the tube is restrictive. I wanted to ask those who ONLY upgraded the tube and no tune, since A LOT of people here do tune them, or those who mod are more likely to tune it ultimately. I honestly think the problem with the...
Thanks a lot for your input! good to know about its potential benefits without a tune. I plan on keeping mine tune free lol...just IC and now maybe this mod as well, since it's relatively inexpensive.
