my contribution to this thread: the PP setup is *not* sufficient on a heavy, high powered S550 driven hard. my trials and tribulations are well documented :)
as for the duct/deflector debate, if you bend/notch the frame rails and ensure your FSB is as close to parallel as the endlinks will...
FWIW, i've been using heel-toe for years, and it's been very effective for autox and slower track cars. now that i'm hitting top of 5th gear speeds though, and with my propensity to brake at the absolute threshold, the room for error is much smaller without suffering consequences. i just...
the GY SC3 is lasting a LOT longer than expected. i'm still not past half-tread after weekends at: thunderhill 3 mile, LVMS, big willow, laguna seca, PIR, and a bunch of autox. compare that to the my A052, which corded after 5 weekends! for me, knowing how well the SC3 tolerates heat, higher...
3.08 won't work with this platform - the 3.15 OEM-sized diff is a one-off and only works with that R&P - the OEM, OSG and other diffs only work with >3.31, due to space available in the diff case combined with the thickness of taller R&Ps.
suffice it to say i never envisioned driving 35 hours each way to texas for the event when the season began, but here we are. logging lots of hours @ COTA in iracing, so hopefully nothing catches me by surprise come race day. i've never had the car over 175 (top of 5th), but i have a feeling...
i finally got the upper vent on, after running the lower vent for a few months. testing the combo this weekend.
side note for why i went down this route: hood buffeting got much worse this season, after fencing in all my coolers (i.e., a lot more air to vent from under the hood) - especially...
Am from PNW, can confirm :)
PS4S followed by ECS for torrential, none of the 200TW can hack it in those conditions. Also tested and confirmed prior to ā18 nats and then re-confirmed on Day 1 :D
GY SC3 is the droid you are looking for. much better wear than the PS4, better dry grip than the PS4/RS4, decent wet grip (PS4>SC3>RS4), and very high heat tolerance.
With the cancellation of SEMA, the Optima Ultimate Street Car Association has decided to move their Invitational event to Circuit of the Americas. For the first time in their 10 year history, there will be a $25,000 winner-takes-all purse, which will definitely make more interesting for the TV...
The organizers are discussing the details behind the scenes, but nothing that can be publicly confirmed yet. It looks like they did add some stuff to the schedule though: https://hiperformanceexpo.com/event-schedule/
For those you in Texas, they moved OUSCI from Vegas (due to SEMA cancellation) to COTA 11/1-3. Iāll be making the 32+ hour haul to compete on 11/2-3, but if you arenāt in the event, they are doing an all-comers autox on 11/1 (as well as a car/vendor show, and possibly track/karting, details are...
not true. a fellow racer (who may chime in, he's on here but doesn't drop by all that much anymore) rolled his '16 GT @ an event a few years back with race seats and SRS light on; airbags deployed.
