I had the struts installed by a pro shop and they knew of the splined bolts. They hit them really hard and then used my new supplied Ford OEM pieces. Not cheap but done. Now struggling with a fresh alignment and getting a straight steering wheel. It is always something but the wheel has to...
Just went to Safelite and they have OEM Ford glass in stock with the Ford logo, correct tint, and acoustic sound deadening. Not cheap at $646 but I want original quality and look. Goes in tomorrow.
I am taking my car into a high performance shop to have the work done. I did learn that the two knuckle to strut splined bolts and nuts are one time use parts according to Ford. I just bought a fresh set to be installed next week. Once they beat on the old ones, it nice to have all new going in.
I just cracked my OEM 2018 coupe windshield and would like to go OEM with the Ford Logo and sound screen feature. Any advice as to who did the work and approximate cost. Ford dealer, Safelite, or local guys seem to be the install options but getting the OEM glass is the mission. Also...
Many thanks everyone, I tried all of the above ideas and still could not get these bolts to release. My car has only 24K on it and is clean as far as rust. I have wacked on these bolts with a decent sledge and after overnight soaking, still no luck. I reassembled the front end and now...
I am in the middle of replacing my front struts with a set of KONI yellows and have hit a snag. I have disassembled all of the front components but I cannot get the splined to bolts out that connect the strut to the knuckle. The nuts came off and I backed them off to a flush point so they can...
Try checking to the front hubs for run out. Had this issue years ago with an old T-Bird and chased it for two years. The hubs were had run out which bolted the rotors and wheels into a rotating mess that balancing could never fix. Worth a check!
I have a Gen 3 Coyote with the composite plastic oil pan. I have no problems with it and I do not see any issues on this forum with higher mileage 5.0s so that is great. But Ford made a change on the latest Coyote Gen 4 engines returning to all steel. I wondered why until I watched REVING...
I had the dreaded tram lining with a stock GT and crap tastic Pirelli P Zero Nero AS 19 inch tires. The alignment did nothing. Michelin Pilot Sport AS4s completely eliminated the tram lining along with the awful groaning noise.
Keep the spare. One tire problem and its time for the flat bed tow truck with no spare to get home. AAA will change to the spare if you have one other wise hope that your car does not get damaged by the tow. And where does the tow guy take you on a Sunday afternoon? The tire store where they...
The body parts and trim will be hard to get as the years pass. I just secured a new lower front splitter for my 2018 GT figuring that I will some day whack the factory splitter on a parking curb as I age. To my surprise, the local dealer had two in stock and matched another dealer's online...
I just saw a Ford Master Tech on YOUTUBE saying that the Gen 4 Coyote 5.0s are no longer using the plasma spray in liners. Is this true and is Ford back to press in linings? I know that they switched back to a metal oil pan on the redesign but have not heard about this.
Thanks for your input. I went back and forth and decided to get a set of adjustable Konis on a great sale this week at AM. I had a set on my old SN 197 and they dramatically improved that car and were adjustable for wear.
I have a non PP GT Premium which has the 19 inch wheels. Looking to upgrade the struts and shocks soon. I have had good luck with both brands. On the s550, any input would be greatly appreciated. I like sporty driving but no track day with my car.
I have the FP designed catch can. Ford designed it so it should be good. And it helps keep the cats cleaner in the long run since you are burning up less deposits over many miles.
