Curious to hear what you guys think we'll be able to get for the GT PP this fall?
I don't even have a Mustang but a guy at work has a 2015 with less than 2k miles that he has to get rid of and he has told me he wants $39k for it: sticker was $44k.
What will this car be worth this fall...
I just don't think we're going to ever see a turbocharged Voodoo (from the factory). I really hope I am wrong but I don't think Ford would sink all the R&D into an engine that would only ever go into one vehicle (it won't fit into the Ford GT).
Turbocharging is the way to go - I think Ford is done working with superchargers, it's kind of a half-ass aftermarket approach to making more power.
I want to see the 3.5 V6 EcoBoost in the GT500. If they want to chase the Hellcat market and want another heavy, uninspired supercharged boat...
It's an odd duck for sure. And the aftermarket for this powerplant is going to be basically nonexistent. I kind of wonder if the money should not have been spent on developing a lower compression version of the Coyote with forged internals and tack on $15k in cooling and turbocharging. Such a...
If this is true why did Ford not develop the Voodoo to compete in LMGTE?
Why did Ford spend money on this engine that it is only going to put into a single, low-production vehicle?
Something doesn't seem right to me. Sorry.
The classing rules for LeMans is really irrelevant here. Regardless of those rules, Ford development money is going to be spent on focusing on that 3.5 V6. If they can develop 600+ hp from that engine, and especially in a motorsport application, that is the engine I want in my Mustang, not a...
Randy - I have no doubt. Much as the Z/28 is fitted with the very last of a dying breed (7.0 liter LS7) I am wondering if the GT350 is in the same boat.
I do think the collectability of the 350R is very, very likely.
I am not sure if I believe all the hysteria about Ford ditching V8's, but I...
It seems that Ford is moving to the EcoBoost era and with the power potential of that 3.5 V6 going into the Raptor and GT, it really makes me wonder if the Voodoo is going to be a short-lived stepchild in the new Ford portfolio.
I think it goes without saying that it is very clear that the...
It's a goddamned Mustang not a Ferrari. Why wouldn't you drive it daily?
This is not a rare, exotic, or limited production vehicle. DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT.
The car has navigation and heated seats...of course it will be an excellent daily driver. I have had cars with Magnetic...
So we have already heard that there will be both a Technology Pack and a Track Pack.
Is it safe to assume that the track pack will include the magnetic suspension components? Or will this be a larger, more expensive one-off option?
I am also curious if anyone has any idea about other...
Superchargers do not belong on track cars. If they put a supercharger on the GT500 then Ford is basically saying that they want to compete against the Hellcat and not the Z/28.
If they want to fight the Z/28 they need a turbo Coyote or Voodoo. No superchargers.
If Ford wants to make a new GT the only thing they should do is just turbocharge the Voodoo and put it into the same Ford GT they made back in 2005. That car was perfect and needs no updating.
The GT500 isn't really the top of the Mustang food chain in many people's eyes including my own. Despite all of that power it is heavy, has a poor suspension, and not really set up for track abuse like the Boss 302.
The GT500 is really a car for old guys who like to brag about horsepower...
The Magnetic ride suspension, the brakes, and most importantly the engine + transmission alone are worth it in my opinion.
Honestly I think the Mustang GT is a phenomenal bargain already, so I do see your point but at $53k base this GT350 is a heck of a value. Compare it to the $75,000 BMW...
I care much more about 75mph cruising RPMs and gas mileage than I do about pissing contests over 0-60 times which are metrics that RWD cars like Mustangs and Corvettes are never going to be great at.
Now, 60-120mph....I do care about that. :)
