Curious to hear what you guys think we'll be able to get for the GT PP this fall?

I don't even have a Mustang but a guy at work has a 2015 with less than 2k miles that he has to get rid of and he has told me he wants $39k for it: sticker was $44k.

What will this car be worth this fall? With reasonable miles (under 10k)? I am thinking $33k-$34k? I don't know if I want to eat more than $5000 in depreciation.

I have to buy a car NOW and can't wait until Fall, unfortunately.

I don't think it would drop 10k that fast, I think around 5k would be around the ballpark.
Granted many people use X-plan and pay 40K and less for a decent optioned car currently.

He would be lucky to get $35,000 for the car! Buy a used 2012/2013 boss if you want
To sell after 1 year, they hold value much better!

you probably will get hit pretty good , 15 would be a year old and the dealers are probably going to low ball you because of the 350. Just aSWAG. Good luck with it though.

I would assume at least 35% depreciation during the first year...

You can go to the dealer and buy a new one for less than $39k with the rebates available. I would be looking to get the guy at works car for $37k or less.

Im sorry but the minute you said "I do" to buying your Mustang GT you lost 5K easy...Im only guessing (because I have bought over 40 brand new cars in 25 years) but with 10K miles and 9 months old which will put you months away from the 2016 model year..I think "wholesale" will be about a 8-9K loss, retail 6K loss.

Very interesting - thanks for the input guys.

Sounds like I'll avoid the 2015 for a car less likely to depreciate so much.

I'm not sure, but I'm trading or selling mine back for the gt350. Hope I don't lose to bad, but I want it either way.

Cars aren't about making money or saving money. Yes you will lose the most if you buy something new and trade at a dealer in a short amount of time.

I know I say this every time I buy a car, but I really think Im going to keep this GT350, if they only run this production car for 2 years...like the BOSS, and then come out with the MACH 1, or what ever is next up Fords sleeve, then this car could actually retain some residual value. Especially the "R" . Maybe a good investment..lol

You will do better to sell it private party. If you trade it in on a GT350 you will get steam rolled.

Good investment? A sports car? I think not.

The grass is always greener every few years.
