You better sit in a C6 before deciding to buy one.
The seats are really THAT BAD, and the entire interior is K Mart grade.
I bought a then new '09 C6 Z51. It was THE WORST car I've ever owned, and I dumped it after just three months of problems and disgust. It felt more like a kit car than...
This guy's on drugs of he thinks the 87 octane tuned Ecoboost Mustang is going to make something close to "355 HP."
I may very well buy a new Ecoboost performance package Mustang, and I'm very interested and even "excited" about the engine. But we need to be realistic here.
I'll also note...
Where are you getting your information about Recaro's "comfort?"
Recaro is well known for making seats that that focus on proper orthopedics and full support - even on the straights, while sitting in the car, etc...
Yep, I'm certain that's absolutely true.
I installed the least expensive Recaro at the time in my then new '99 1LE Z28 Camaro. The Recaro's were so much better in every way that they almost transformed the car.
Yes, a well designed seat can be MUCH more comfortable in daily driving, as you've pointed out.
People in general assume the Recaro seats are "only better for cornering," when in fact they'll likely be much more comfortable and supportive than the standard seats in nearly every way. (Too bad...
Depends how bad the standard seat is.
The seats in my then new '09 Corvette were so awful that I couldn't sit in it for more 10 minutes without getting a back ache. The seats in my then new '07 Mazda speed 3 were marginal, too.
The seats in my '13 GTI are vastly superior in every way - to the...
I've defended the abilities of solid axle cars before. I owned and drove a '99 LS1 1LE Camaro for 6 years.
The primary issue is with a solid axle is ride quality, although they're also sub-standard in maintaining road contact on irregular surfaces.
The Challenger and Camaro were initially...
'Vettes have been doing just fine in terms of 60 foot times, 0 - 30 MPH, 0 - 60 MPH, and ET for quite some time with an IRS. So have many other cars.
A lot of Mustang people focus on drag strip performance, and a solid rear axle will ultimately do better than an IRS at very high power levels...
I tossed the OEM driver's seat from my then new '99 1LE Camaro and installed a new aftermarket Recaro (their entry level seat) the same week I took delivery.
The Recaro substantially changed the entire driving experience.
But the '15 Mustang's standard seats are likely better than that...
Didn't know that...thanks for the information.
There's no doubt that the new IRS package is going to be lighter than a solid axle...aluminum center section, aluminum H arms, and no heavy steels axle housings spanning the entire width of the car.
Other V6s haven't been able to get out of the 14s.
The IRS set-up is lighter than the solid axle in this application - in part due to the IRS's use of aluminum H arms.
I'm sure the Ecoboost 6 speed performance package will be a 13 second car, though we'll have to see.
The result I provided was representative of a production line stock, '69 - '70 428 CJ Mustang.
The Ecoboost will get into the 13s for sure.
13.7 @ 104 MPH is probably a good estimate.
Performance package cars sit a little lower and the wheel wells are pretty much stuffed full of wheel and tire:

I never drove one.
The new car has an IRS, completely different suspension geometry in the front, and greater structural rigidity overall. Ride quality should a bit more supple than the Boss 302's while still providing slightly quicker lap times.
But we won't really know until we see real...
