  1. New cold air kit from PMAS No tune required.

I am intrigued by the PMAS set up. But lack of real world results is concerning. The issues they had getting these to work early on is also very concerning. If PMAS wants to get an independent test done I have the time and a dyno. I would do track testing as well. Maybe they can hook me up if...
  2. Rear brake size? Really ford!

ok, I exaggerated a little. The foxbody drums were 9" and the rear disc brakes were like 10.5". That coupled with a 11" front rotor and small bore caliper. Even though those cars were lighter the brakes were horrible! That is a long way from a 13" rotor and big piston caliper & 15" rotor 6...
  3. Rear brake size? Really ford!

You have to remember you have a 13" rotor as well. Older cars had like 9" rotors. A larger rotor has a better mechanical advantage over the smaller rotors. It also allows for a larger pad surface area. So with that 13" rear rotor, larger pad & caliper bore you have a very capable rear brake...
  4. Result CAI vs stock air box at the drag strip

Like said, when you want a max power n/a set up at any cost even a couple hp here and there. So even if it only gives 5-10 hp and the car runs .01 quicker it is what you have to do. "Nothing more than..." wow I am sure Justin, crew and car owner would be amazed at how well you down play all...
  5. 2 days of JLT intake heat soak research, data whores GET IN HERE!

I don't think there is anything "wrong" with the Roush cai. But ever sense someone made that comment about it looking like a crushed garbage can, that is exactly what I see when I look at the Roush cai. I am not really concerned about how my cai looks. I don't leave my hood open at...

The silver metal portion is separate. Just not sure if it is reinforcing the plexiglass or not. Painted black I think I would be ok with it. Or maybe just get the Roush. I am not sure what to get. lmao. I have till spring to figure it out.

I liked the Airaid on my 2011. The insert in it was a good idea on their part. I am not a huge fan of the S550 box they have. I think the silver cover will get painted for sure. Might tint the plexiglass cover as well. Mute the look of it some. The Roush didn't look bad until someone compared...
  8. 2 days of JLT intake heat soak research, data whores GET IN HERE!

The instructions for the 2015 Aidaid street and race kits do not show a maf insert like the earlier 2011-14 kits. Maybe someone on here can confirm this? It is such a good idea I can't believe they would change that design for the S550. It seems Steeda and Roush are the only kits with a maf...
  9. Cobra Jet intake install

I am interested to see what the mono blade does with this combo. As well as more rpm out of the motor. Good luck  How do you build an intake for a car that isn't even made yet? in 2012 when this intake came out the S550 was probably in early development. FRPP couldn't have any idea...
  10. Cobra Jet intake install

Well it was designed for the 2011-14 cars. Can't blame Ford or frpp for the intake not fitting the 2015+ the same way. I had to remove the CJ intake when dropping the trans on the 2011-14 cars. Otherwise it would hit the firewall/cowl area. So not surprised if the 2015+ was the same as it looks...
  11. Broke half shaft at the track(street tire)

Wheel hop on radials is brutal on axles and shafts. A stronger set is safe insurance for sure. But I think over all this "super 8.8", as engineers called it, has held up quite well so far.

Fan wash can cause issues with may readings and temperature if not sealed off from the filter and air inlet. No doubt about that. This is a great example of that. I planned to buy a Roush Cai because it seemed to have a better shield and seal. Is the man area much different from the jet to the...

  14. Whats the coolest feature you didn't know your car had?

Read most of the owners manual last night. There were only two things I learned that wasn't already covered, unless I missed it. The first was that you can program a total of 4 keys/transmitters to the car. I am paranoid about losing on or both transmitters and having to pay the dealer a...
  15. Mustang 6G Forum Browsing on Your Phone

Agreed. A couple years ago, when I first started using it, there was an adjustment period for sure. But the app has gotten better and better. With a few bumps along the way. But makes browsing forums so much easier. But for some reason when I get emails about new posts in threads I don't get...
  16. VMP TVS: 9.7@142

I think somewhere else, Facebook maybe, he posted what he has on the car. No secrets or anything special. Kelly works at BMR, I am sure if you call to place an order he can tell you exactly what he has and what options you have. I will bet you will be very happy with their parts.
  17. Cobra Jet intake install

Mainly referring to the part I highlighted in red --- They don't discuss because in many cases tuners have hours and hours into testing and tuning to see what works best. So they don't like to share when this gives them an advantage over the next tuner. But because they do not go into depth...
  18. Cobra Jet intake install

Because when you are drag racing ET and getting to the line first is all that matters. If changes do not translate into quicker ET it doesn't matter. MPH and weight are true indicators of what the car is making for power. Comparing peak numbers on a dyno graph don't mean much. The dyno is a...
