I would like a Fox sized Mustang. As Jesse stated, it has roughly the same interior space as the S197 and S550.
But I wouldn't want to be in an accident with one. At least one with Fox body safety requirements.
This is a great post Jesse! It really shows us where you are coming. I agree with what you are saying about bloat, but (you knew there was a but) I feel the reason is purely government intervention.(You know all about that living in Colorado right now)
Safety regulations are what is responsible...
You are reading waaaaaaay too far into my original post. I never said that in order for it to weigh less it had to handle worse. If you read the response I had to Eurospeed, you will see that I tried to explain myself better. It was simply a way to show that losing weight isn't the Holy Grail...
But can't you adjust the steering input already? I guess by adding the other features it might possibly make it a new feature. But I thought that you could already do that on certain BMWs?
I'm in agreement with you there. But as noted here at M6G previously, there are other weighs (pun intended) about it.:D
I think someone (The Pill or Overboost possibly)mentioned the use of Boron steel. Whether this is what is used now or could be used, the solution was to use a higher quality...
That wasn't part of Option B. You can't associate better handling with just reduced weight. The reason that people believe the weight will increase or stay the same instead of dropping is because of increased rigidity in the chassis.
Let me try this another way. Option A is the 2015 Mustang...
Maybe we should start a poll? "Option A" is a Mustang that has more power, better interior refinements, handles and rides better than the previous generation but weighs the same. Option B is a Mustang that doesn't do anything better than "Option A". In fact, "Option B" isn't as well planted on...
This makes me think of the old saying "you got to pay to play." Ford realizes that in order to get the go fast goodies, you will have to go up in package level which means more profit potential.
