Are there really any benefits to having a catback with 3 inch pipes if the rest of the exhaust leading to it is smaller diameter? I wasn't sure where else to ask.
Just stay calm. You can't change what's out of your control. Life happens is what I kept telling myself. Call his insurance and open a claim telling them clearly what happened. They will contact him. Get the persons name from his insurance that you talk to and keep bothering them. Start a...
Be careful dealing with the other persons insurance. I was driving my sisters car a few days before Christmas and a girl backed into us in a mall parking lot. We filed a claim with her insurance (Farmers) and when they called back to interview me about it they told me that the girl said that...
Also, lowering springs lower the center of gravity but it also lowers the roll center which would need to be compensated for. Sway bars will help but ball joints are a better fix.
Agreed on the center of gravity and squat but at least on my old S197 lowering changed the camber curve in the front and reduced grip in the back because of the angle of the control arms. This is why there were longer ball joints and control arm relocation brackets available.
In the front the...
It would be nice if there were springs that didn't drop or only dropped 1/2 inch. Everyone cares about looks but they pay no mind to how lowering will change suspension geometry. Not to mention making it over speed bumps.
:p
If I remember correctly the cat back for my 05 was about $500. I know Corsa makes a great product but that's some serious cash for a couple of pipes and mufflers, especially when there aren't any power gains. $1400 for sound is kinda ridiculous. If I fork out the dough for this and is...
I already had my 2005 Mustang when they got the bailout but I'll never even consider a GM product every again because of it. My parents drove Buicks and now they drive Fords because of the bailout.
It kills me that GM actually had the nerve to say they paid it all back when all they did was...
I installed my 5030-98 as well. It's not my daily driver so I will be a while before I can show results. The build quality was excellent and it's super easy to install.
When I lowered my S197 with Steeda ultralites I ended up installing the Steeda ball joints to fix the camber curve from lowering it. We put the car on an alignment rack and put a winch on the k member. As we compressed the suspension we could see the -camber max out and then start moving back...
I can't stand understeer. Nothing worse than the front end plowing forward and chattering during a turn when you're autocrossing. I subscribe to the notion of fixing the end of the car that has the problem first. So I'd rather try to give the front end of the car more grip rather than...
Thanks Norm. Considering that the front camber stock is about -1 then why is the rear so much more at -1.5. It just seems like a lot to me. Also, to get more front end grip for the track I always used about -2.5 with my s197. Would I also increase the rear or just leave it at -1.5?
So why would you want -camber in the rear. I understand cornering grip but wouldn't you want that to be zero for traction. When the car squats during acceleration it would cause even more camber causing even less traction. It was zero with the live axle in the s197 so I was expecting it to be...
