There is no reason to remove the exhaust. I have the 3" MBRP system and I was able to push the cradle down far enough to get the spring out. It really doesn't require removing exhaust when done correctly.
I assuming because the method they use. Just follow the CJ video. Don't cross reference between two different instructions otherwise you're just going to confuse yourself.

Most of them the splitter is maybe 1/8" over the parking curb at most, some I will hit if I don't pay attention. Tell your wife to be careful and mindful. It's not that hard to not pull all the way up onto a curb stop.
I actually spoke to the owner two weeks ago at Kennedale, Texas Raceway. Cool dude and has a sweet collection. He had his 66 428 Cobra Jet at the track that day.
Some of you people worry way to much or don't know enough. Don't modify the car if your worried about water getting to a open filter element. Unless you drive into a lake, the filter is going to stay dry.
