If those DRLs are deactivated it conflicts with another German TÜV regulation which states something like: Anything that a car has built in has to work. So for example, you don´t need fog lights in Germany but if your car has them they have to work - same should apply for the DRLs.

Guys...they updated the engine not without any reason. I´m sure they reinforced it so it will withstand the harder way of driving over here, especially in Germany. And there are economies of scale, of course. They would not build a bunch of old engines when they could reduce fix costs with...
