I had this exact experience with Ford on my '18...'The bulletin covers it so it's normal'...Are you frikin' serious..can you not understand they are clearly two completely different noises, made at two entirely different times and conditions??!!?

Was not aware of the difference in mufflers but it makes sense, however your description of sound is just how I would describe mine...A lot quieter than I expected cruising and a bit louder than I expected in the gas..lol

I have the MBRP Street stainless catback on my '18 and I can assure there is NO Drone...NONE...It may not be the sound you're looking for, sound is very subjective, but I can assure you their Street system has no drone.

If you're retaining your factory resonator you're unlikely to have drone with many of the systems..

Just completed the install of the MBRP Street catback system on my '18 and I'm really on the fence about its sound..Pretty 'messy' under a load...thought it'd be a lot cleaner. Did you have yours for a while, if so did the tone get any better/less distorted?? Seriously considering the AWE Touring..
