UPDATE: DONE!!! Signed the surrender packet and drove off with the new vehicle. I'm now just waiting for the check to be mailed to my old finance company, which will occur after Ford receives the packet from the dealership. They are sending it overnight so I'm hoping it will be soon...
I think most people (at least I'm hoping most people lol) are aware that it's either 0% APR or the cash incentives. It's typically one or the other. My recent purchase was a buyback though. There were no deals or incentives allowed, just straight MSRP swap and I financed the amount from the...
The funny thing is I thought "Dave Ramsey would hate me right now" as I signed the paperwork :giggle: lol. Yeah, the payment is affordable. I've never missed a car payment in my life so I'm not worrying about it. They let me do 60 months as well, so it was a solid deal. I didn't want to go for...
I see where you both are coming from.
Ice445, I'm kind of you with the daily driver situation. I use it as a daily and it's just more of a fun daily driver for me. I'm sure people find it silly too, but I've always wanted a GT and being that I'm 30 and have no children, I'm in a situation...
An engine replacement can significantly impact the re-sale value of any vehicle. People will think that if the engine blew than that means there could be other issues as well. I'm not saying that's the case, but people's perception of this is what could drive the value down. If I'm looking for a...
Thank you for the support and additional information Cobra.
UPDATE: I went to the dealership Monday to apply for financing after the Ford RAV Rep finally said I could do the deal. Drove down there and then they told me they actually can’t because they want the surrender packet first (despite...
UPDATE: Well, this is kind of an update as it might help someone in the future. I went to the dealership Monday to do the financing on the vehicle and the dealership had no idea if they should do it before the arrival of the surrender packet arrived. I brought the offer letter and they had no...
UPDATE: Got the numbers from my Ford Rep for the replacement. Went over them thoroughly and they looked good. I signed the form and e-mailed it to her. She stated the closing packet will be sent to the dealership by 6/12/20, which is when I can go to surrender the vehicle.
My last question...
Definitely good you have that extended coverage. Gives you some piece of mind. Mine had the rattle too, but of course it’s “normal”. I hope nothing negative happens with your vehicle and it continues to function properly.
UPDATE: Received my offer letter from my Ford Buy Back representative. Numbers looked good. I’m honestly walking out with an incredible deal:
Original MSRP for the lemon was $39.5K and I purchased it for $30K. Replacement is $43.5K. So I’m looking at just tackling on an extra $4K and taxes for...
This may be a really stupid question, but does anyone know if the dealerships can order and install this for you? I’m going through a buyback right now and I can’t find one with PP1 and SYNC 3. Mustangs are kind of limited in my area right now. I’m getting a 2020 PP1 GT, but really want Sync 3.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, my Twisted Orange GT replacement is a no-go. For some reason there was $2,000 work of extra mods on the vehicle, on top of the MSRP. So I found one locally. 2020 GT Red Metallic with PP1. We'll see how this goes.
I use my 2018 GT as a daily driver. Roughly 20 miles to work and 20 miles back each day. I have the base model. I am in the process of getting the vehicle replaced through Ford (already approved for the Buyback) due to issues with the engine, but I am opting for the replacement instead of refund...
Good to know! I always just opt for the dealership with any sensor issues. I feel there's just a high frequency of sensors going off and or PCM's not being updated that it makes it more stressful on me when I try to look at it on my own. Good post though! Do you have the specific TSB he was...
Sorry man, I'm still not hearing anything. Albeit I am at work and the computer on my desk has crappy speakers. If it is engine tick I highly doubt they will do anything about it, which is unfortunate, because I still firmly believe it's an issue, despite the TSB's they release. It may be a...
So I have a 2018 Mustang GT that is going through the Buy-Back process right now. I forgot the exact date it went in, but it was early March. I was getting a knocking noise at specific RPMs. It ended up being in the shop for over 45 days (timing chain replaced, sprockets, intake manifold gasket...
