Based on what the engineers have stated of the current GT500 running 10.8 @ 134mph (I know this is just hearsay/rumor), I have calculated, using the above and numerous other et/trap/hp calculators, the possibilities for HP, I used curb weights starting...
Yes, yes I would, I'd have to give up some internal organs but yes I would, I'm merely a life long Ford fanboy having owned a 2000 Lightning which I traded for a 2004 Comp Orange Cobra which I traded in for a 2011 Raptor which I traded in for my current Focus RS and am ALWAYS rooting for "the...
Am I the only one that is a bit disappointed? If we are referring to "Venom kills Demons" but only on a road course then why was there the comparison/statement made in the first place since the Demon was always deemed a straight line performer? 2020 GT500 is capable of mid 3 0 to 60 which is...
Previously Mike Levine mentioned on his IG acct if the Easter Egg for the 2018 Mustang that showed the numbers of "4 & 55" on the dash pic was caught by the viewers, the 18" came out with 460hp so I hope the dash pic for the GT500 that I seen somewhere showing the numbers "7 & 72" means that the...
I hope there is a dedicated drag...ish version ie a street version of the Cobra Jet, base Mustang GT with a FI 5.0 A10 with street/strip suspension...and yes I know you can replicate this with a base 5.0 but a factory offering with everything ready to take it to the dragstrip would be cool, IMHO...
I'm with you @SVTSNAKE355 and also feel John was the last person that worked for Ford that was truly "one of us", I feel he knew what we expect from the cars we want and that anything short of the Manley rods at that time would just NOT cut it, I feel he put pressure on the bean counters to get...
Yeah, scooped up a copy back when I had my termy, I still have the copy of Iron Fist, Lead Foot: John Coletti and Ford's Terminator, sadly I no longer have my 04 Comp Orange Cobra coupe...:explode:
If I'm not mistaken the only specialty Mustang that had the Manley Rods were the 2003 and 2004 Mustang Cobras through the persistence of John Coletti as the powder forged rods were not in development at that time, Ford did start using the powder forged rods on the later Shelby GT500s but I may...
Link provided discusses the specific Ford GT DCT transaxle, besides, Ford using a transaxle on the upcoming GT500 would simply place it in a different class of car and price point thus alienating many "Muscle Car" buyers but I feel the upcoming price tag will have already kinda done that...JMHO
I'm not an expert in ALL road racing series but I don't think there is a "run what ya brung" racing series that will allow for the likes of a GT500 to directly complete with the likes of the ZL1 1LE and such cars, I'm not even sure if there is a racing series that allows for a supercharged...
I like the blacked out front end as its a departure from traditional mustangs as well as different from the GT350 as well, I feel it gives the GT500 a menacing look that I personally like. IMHO My thinking may be a bit biased as my current Focus RS has that same section of the grill blacked out...
Being the old fart that I am I just wanted to point out that I thought there were a few, and I mean less than a handful of 1967 GT500s that were initially equipped with Fords 427 sideoiler FE prior to switching over to the 428PI and then the 428CJ, if I'm not mistaken. Anybody else remember that?
I will admit I am a Ford fanboy (old man), I have been lucky enough to have owned several Ford muscle vehicles, 66 c code fastback (still have this one), 71 Mach I, 86 GT, 2000 Lightning, 2004 Comp Orange Cobra (wish I kept) 2011 Raptor Screw and now a 16 Focus RS, I love my Fords and bought...
Right before the turn I could hear a couple quick rev match downshifts but I see what you mean, up-shifts didn't seem DCT-like, this could be the introductory version maybe with the A10 prior to the all out R/KR/whatever with the DCT. Again, just guessing...
