Yea after doing more digging I don't think its worth the risk. I thought most guys that were breaking them were launching hard, but some guys that were launching soft broke them too. Someone on here broke a half shaft on drag radials power shifting into third. Sucks, 350$ for nitto555Rs on...
 Going to the strip next Friday for the second time in my Mustang GT 3.31 MT. Found a set of 305/45R18 Nitto 555Rs on Shelby 18 inch wheels for a great deal.
Launching softly the stock half shafts should be okay? I wont be doing any 5k dumps, maybe 3k tops slipping the clutch out...
I had it ridiculously bad too. I ordered the BMR lockout kit. Supposed to cure 90% of the hop for 160$. I had it so bad one run I swear the rear end was off the ground. still ran a 13.3 at 109 in 100 degree AZ heat.
OP you are doing the right thing, the 3.55 gear is a perfect match for the MT-82. I wish I ordered a base with the 3.55 and not just picked one of the dealer lot. BTW the stock wheels and all seasons are garbage.
The 1LE is an amazing car, it truly is a road course well prepped monster. The 3.91 gear helps ALOT in the 1LE. The regular SS feels slow in comparison because of the gear. It is a drivers race from a dig. My mustang ran better times then my buddies 1LE at the track though. He couldn't edge me...
Lethal performance H-Pipe+ flex pipe delete with stock mufflers sounds awesome. Might be adventurous and throw a set of dynomax ultraflows on it because no one else had tried it. Always like the way dynomax has sounded on mustangs and other vehicles. Offers a deep rich tone.
My 2008 GSXR 600 felt "slow"/ boring on a wide open highway, on Chuckwalla raceway during track days it felt exceptionally fast. accelerating to 110+ then braking and dropping a knee into a 45 MPH corner definitely changes perception. If you were to go WOT balls out on the track, you would be...
Install was a success. I was able to reuse the trimmed coupler and the car started and idled with proper IATs... Only thing I am concerned about is the bottom vaccum line FITTING is slightly loose. Is that a huge deal PMAS? SHOULD I pull it off and put some. Thread tape on it?
The transition hose size?It seems like the intake side is larger then the TB side or is just stretched out? Just in case I need to go buy another coupler. I removed the coupler to smoothen out the cut on the throttle body side. it was crooked jagged and not strait. little did I know...
So no where in the directions did it state that the coupler needed to be installed at an angle on the intake tube. That led me to believe that the couple was not cut to the proper size so though my thought process I trimmed it. What are the two sizes on the coupler just in case I trimmed to much?
Will try again tomorrow after work... Good thing is it fired right up, IATs were good and AFRs were good. Then I tried closing the hood... No matter what you do, the hood liner will apply pressure on the intake and there will be a significant amount of resistance. I tied adjusting it several...
