  1. E92 335i VS Ecoboost Mustang

You will love the charismatic 5.0. I have had N54 and now an N55 and they are simply sweet engines. The 5.0 has a different feel, very visceral and they like to rev. The one thing that will take getting used to coming from a BMW is the throttle travel; why does it have to be so long Ford?
  2. 1500 mile road trip

Haha! My oldest son bought this when he came back from Afghan in 2012 and stationed in CO Springs. I bought it from him to keep in the family when he needed the money. I freshened up the motor in my condo garage with new rings, bearings, timing chain, oil pump etc. Put on some late E7 heads...
  3. Range for full tank of gas

410 mi This from my recent road trip, all highway. Biggest gripe with this Ford and the late model Escape is puny gas tanks.
  4. 1500 mile road trip

I originally took delivery of my 2015 EB on 2/28. It sat in storage until Tuesday April 21 as I planned to drive it down to Fort Myers FL as my daily driver every other month per my occupation. So, I headed out with my oldest son, the first thing that strikes me about this car is how 70s...
  5. Pushrods vs DOHC

I think the bottom line is; would the S550 Mustang be better served with a pushrod engine? I think the 2.3, 3.7, and 5.0 DOHC motors aquits themselves well, and can be modified for more. No going back.
  6. Pushrods vs DOHC

The one and so far only year that 4 valve heads were allowed in the highly respected Engine Masters competition; the top 3 finishers were DOHC 5.4 based motors. http://forums.hotrod.com/car-craft/70/9574728/car-engine/dohc-dominates-2013-amsoil-engine-masters/...
  7. 400HP 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

That may be, but the quest for power means getting after it in terms of rebuilds (2.3 has half the parts of 5.0). You will be just another 5.0 if you keep it stock (for someone else to realize any classic value). A remarkable 2.3 T can be the stuff of legend. Whatever floats your boat. I...
  8. 400HP 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

How wrong and arrogant you are. FYI, the 2.3 EB is based on the Mazda L engine family (last time I checked Mazda is still an import) and these mods add up to more like 140-160 over stock RWHP.
  9. 400HP 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

Note to OP and moderator this should be in the EB engine sub-forum.
  10. Pushrods vs DOHC

I don't see a lot of 200k mile junkyard German engines being turbo'd to produce 800, 900, or 1000 hp. I know of A 30 yr old TT P 928 S4 that makes 964 RWHP. Also, I'd say the Venom GT does a pretty good job as a world-beater w/ it's inferior pushrods. Did you know that the fastest OEM car...
  11. Pushrods vs DOHC

They're typically much larger in dimensions - True but if it fits the car who gives a rats behind? Are you shuffling engines around? They are heavier - Wrong, OMG your Hemi is over 100 pounds heavier than a 5.0 Coyote. Cast iron block on your nose. They are more expensive to produce - Ford...
  12. E92 335i VS Ecoboost Mustang

DaveM3, do you have a dog in this race? Actually you need to activate sport (suspension and or drive train depending on how you configured the switch), then hold the DSC button. We are talking contemporary F20-22s here
  13. E92 335i VS Ecoboost Mustang

Ok, how often are you in a drag race? Defeat this, push that and voila its amazing...been there done that for 3 years in a 335. The 228 felt like it had 90w in its crankcase, where's the torque? The ecoboost is a better tuned engine, and car IMO.
  14. E92 335i VS Ecoboost Mustang

I test drove a 228. I could not believe how sluggish it felt. The EB feels smoother and quicker, as for the rest of the car; its not built as stout as the tank like 1 series.
  15. GT350 5.2L V8 Voodoo Engine (Pictures)

The car itself is the eye candy! With all do respect the S197 Boss never quite looked right IMO with it slab sides and big arse.
  16. Mustang Ecoboost Check Engine Light

Well maybe you should have considered how you titled your post before getting so defensive. "0h my refridgerator is going to explode"! Noob.
  17. Custom Single Exit Exhaust

Ok...what about the left side exhaust opening?
  18. Ecoboost towing capacity?

According to the owners manual: GT 1k lbs EB 1k lbs V6 1k lbs
  19. Autoblog Review (GT & EcoBoost)

Looks like a Sprint Cup car-of-tomorrow with its elevated rear. The 2015 is so nicely proportioned.
  20. BMW 228 vs. Mustang EB

I had an offer to terminate my lease early on my '12 335. This was good news since I needed a daily driver while I work in FL every other month. I have taken delivery of a CO '15 EB w/PP and A6 trans for use in FL :) This also coincides with the selling of my '04 Lighting this spring :( I...
