Esure but just seen that I only have 3rd party for travelling Europe and just on the phone to them now, they said that I would have to add on European cover for the trip each time i.e. the same as travel insurance basically (give duration and country travelling to) to get fully comp insurance...

You may find that even if it is the same tyre but different size, the noise rating can change quite a bit due to the structure of the tyre. Have you had a check on the US part to see what the guys say about running 20s over there?

Hopefully just a wheel balance issue. As for the tyre noise, yes some tyres are really bad than others, so maybe worth checking the Db levels of the tyres you have used, compared with the MPSS you used to run. I used to venture on the concrete part of the M25 a lot in my old 172 with R888s...
