For anyone else debating replacing their tires with the Michelin Pilots, absolutely do it. I replaced all four. I've had this carr for a little over a year and just assumed how it drove and handled was well how it drove and handled. These new tires make a dramatic difference in the driving...
I had no idea what a difference new tires can make. I've only had this car for about a year, put about 2,000 mi on it, just assumed that's how it drove. What a difference, the car drives so much better now.
$1550 for all new Michelin pilots, yikes. It's not a lot of money if it's a daily driver, but having a hard time writing that check for a car I put 1,000 miles a year on, but I guess I'll do it.
At the shop now there's a nail in the sidewall, these things happen for reason as the insides of the front tires are shot, won't even pass inspection. Getting four new Michelin pilots.
I learned tonight an acquaintance of mine owns a tire shop, they gave me a good price to replace all four with the Michelin so I'm going to go that route.
For those asking - I drive the car hard, short distances. I'm usually shifting between 4 and 5K RPMs, doing some fishtailing, block to block sprints if you will. 5 to 10 miles at a time then the car goes back in the garage.
Can't say I'm an expert driver, but I've had this car for about a year and I feel pretty comfortable driving it. I run it hard, quick burst, usually never get out of fourth gear. I recently took it on a hideaway trip and it beat me to death, so no more highway trips.
I've developed a slow leak in my passenger rear tire. I think they're the originals, car has about 24,000 mi on it now, so I'm thinking it's time to just go ahead and replace them. The car never sees wet roads. I only drive it about 15 to 20 mi a week. My options appear to be
Michelin Pilot...
Borla attack cat-back
Long tube headers
Steeda springs
Mach front bumper
Aftermarket spoiler
Cold air intake
I'm sure I'm missing a few, all I've done is replaced the battery and an oil change.
I own this exact car, same color combo, purchased it April of 2024. It had a lot of aftermarket modifications though, paid 35K for it then. Had 23,000 mi on it.
White wasn't my first choice either, but it's grown on me, I like it a lot, easy to keep clean and get slots of compliments.
I've never even thought about this, it's a good question. I dropped off one of my previous cars at Firestone for some work, one of the shop employees backed another customer's car into the door while I was in the lobby checking in. I was leaving when another guy walking in said he saw the whole...
Borla ATAK without the active valve exhaust. This is the resonator Borla recommended to reduce the volume: https://www.borla.com/products/ford-mustang-gt-connecting-pipe-60661
I have long tube headers, x-pipe with the Borla Cat-Back with no active exhaust/mufflers, and yes, it's stupid loud. Previous Owner did it , it would not have been my choice. I am considering the resonator.
I would not be concerned. If you are though, take it back, so it's documented if something does fail in the future. I am curious how you knew this " cylinder temp was 140 Fahrenheit when I was checking the oil level "
