Anyone have feedback for octane boosters? Building a sand car and don't want a big tank for e85. Should I just go with race gas or is torco/etc fine? We use 5 gallon jugs to haul gas and 1 can of torco takes 91 to 105. Is that realistic to dual tune?

What boost level? What compression? And what do you mean by dual tune?

Starting around 15-17 PSI on the stock pulley & 11:1 compression. We would look to push it further later on. Dual tune to swap between a regular 91 pump gas map and then 105 octane with a smaller pulley with around 25 PSI if possible.

It's perfectly normal to have two tunes like that

Right I wouldn’t call that a dual tune. I’d just call it two tunes but I guess that’s semantics.

I don’t generally like witches brew fuels but 15-17 psi is probably fine. In fact I’d probably just tune it for pump gas at 15-17 psi with conservative timing and have another tune for race gas.

Or….if you wanted you could do boost by drive mode and basically use base/normal for pump gas with a load limit around 1.5 and then in sport mode allow all the boost. Then you wouldn’t have to swap pulleys or tunes to switch fuels.

Would love to run that quick swap dual tune so I'm not duning with 1k horsepower all the time. Perfect to swap when going to the drags or the big hills.

Normally we go to the desert on holiday weekends so the difference between running race gas compared to 91+fuel additive is about 3 thousand dollars a year. Not breaking the bank but considering it's not "needed" majority of the time I'm interested in the additives.

Anyone else have experience running fuel additives like torco/boostane?
