Is there a better looking color than Velocity Blue…… here’s mine and I say absolutely not. It’s by far the best color option. Yours is turning out to be one cool looking ride dude.

Thank you! Glad to see another velocity blue owner. Sometimes when I see another blue with silver wheels and chrome badges, it makes me regret blacking mine out.

But if I went with silver and chrome, I’d be complaining about wanting to go black on everything! Lol

Cervini cobra r hood arrived today. I will be calling my body shop tomorrow to see when they can fit me in to get this hood painted.

I just wanted to take the time to say EMP has fantastic customer service and they shipped out my rear seat delete kit today. The owner stayed on the phone with me for about an hour answering all my questions and listening to the exact design I had in mind for my seat delete. And then even sent me two status updates.

They sent me a picture of what it looks like all done before they shipped it out. It Should be here in a few days and then I will install it. It's so nice finding companies that have such great customer service. So far for me steeda, ford performance, griot's garage, cervinis and emp have all had fantastic customer service.

I paid for custom engraving, custom paint, carpet floor piece and carpet piece facing trunk. Basically got it fully optioned. I am extremely happy with how it turned out and I think this is my favorite modification I have done to the car so far.

You will even be able to see it when standing in front of the car looking in the windshield. Here is the picture they sent me before it shipped out.

Alright everybody, My rear seat delete kit came in today. So it was time to do the prep work before the install. I started by taking out the old seat, did some vacuuming and wiped everything down with some rinse less wash.

After that I decided to lay down some sound deadener. I went with Amazon basics for this. It was only about 15 bucks and figured it would be better than nothing in there.

Now for the sound deadener I weighed it before I installed it. The whole pack was about 6.5 pounds but I did not use all of it. The rear seat delete is supposed to shave 30 pounds off the car and I probably added about 4 pounds back in the sound deadener. But it is definitely worth it.

After I laid down the sound deadener I decided to wrap the seat belt buckles in a layer of foam. I wrapped the foam around the buckle and zip tied it. Then taped it down to the floor with some 3m heavy duty tape. This way it will not make any noise under the seat delete.

The reason I did this instead of removing it, is because there were wires running to the buckle and if I had removed the buckle and unplugged that harness I was worried I would get a light on the dash.

So after all the prep work was done I moved on to installing the rear seat delete. I paid extra for it to be engraved and painted. But I also paid extra to have the bottom piece where you would sit carpeted.

I also paid to have the back of the panel with the logo on it carpeted. That way when you open the trunk, the whole trunk has carpet. Now I completely installed the back piece with the logo on it but have not fully installed the seat piece.

The reason for that is because you can see just how bad the gaps are on the bottom piece. So I am leaving this part loose until I come up with an idea to fill these holes. But you can still see what it looks like for the most part.

It looks amazing. You can even see it from outside the car at the driver and passenger windows and when standing at the front of the car looking through the windshield.

Now one other annoying thing about this is they want you to reuse one of your bolts in the middle. The issue with that is the factory bolt has a welded on washer.

Well guess what? That bolt and washer does NOT have enough clearance to be tightened down without cutting into the back of the seat delete.

This could of been solved if they had of just supplied a new bolt without the washer.

But even with the gaps it has, The quality of it is amazing. The engraving and paint work they did is just perfect.

I think this is my favorite modification looks wise that I have done to my car. Now I just have to work on a solution to fill those gaps. Any advice is appreciated!

I would certainly go back to them about the bottom having those gaps. I can’t see why they wouldn’t have followed the interior trim pieces better than that.

Cervini hood is back from paint. Waiting on a friend of mine to come over and help me uninstall the stock hood and then install the Cervini hood.

I also ended up buying an RTR wicker bill for the pp1 spoiler. It came finished in regular plastic like the front lip and side skirts. I ended up having the body shop paint it gloss black.

In these picture the RTR wicker bill is not installed with the tape yet. I just sat it on there. Not sure if I like it or not, I would really like to hear what you all think of it.

Being black, would like to see how well it goes with the other black accents.
At this point, hard to tell if it looks more like an after thought or not.

Definitely going to have to agree with John on this one, just looks like an afterthought, which makes it look out of place. If you're dead set on having one, the ZL1 Addons one looks better, but just my opinion.

I think it looks good from the rear, but from the front it looks like it doesn't belong

That’s exactly what I’m worried about is it looking like a stick on after thought. I’m installing new hood and tail lights tomorrow, so I will pull it out the garage and get some more pictures from further away soon.

I’m not really set on doing a wicker bill, I just got a little carried away ordering a bunch of new car parts and did not give this one much thought. I think it will go up for sale.

Did your painter happen to say how much prep work was needed before he could paint it? How many base coats and clear coats were applied?
