This has no logic to it. Like I said earlier you are just in your feels. By what your saying a guy in a 2007 Honda Civic could say your shelby isnt an upgrade to his junk becuase he like the sound of the 4 cyl vtec and its much smaller and lighter than your shelby and is a more raw experience. Even though we all know the answer. Just like in this case... We all know the answer some just cant admit it.
You’re wrong, you are projecting. You are drowning in your own feels and unaware of it. If the guy in the ā€˜07 Civic said that to me I’d take him at his word because I don’t live to force my perspective or beliefs on others, whether or not they make sense to me personally.

But, we all know how you’d respond to him because you’ve done it here multiple times.

Voodoo is entirely developed by Ford. Which is why the new non ford shelby mustangs just have Whipple Coyotes. When I said "Team Shelby" i was referring to all the 350 owners on this forum.

And in case anyone is wondering I have no personal beef with the Voodoo or the 350s I think its badass that ford made that move and tried the FPC engine out. Very unique and cool, sounds badass. I just think its funny how wound up these 350 guys get about it, cant even see that there are known flaws with this FPC experiment. Even to the point that they think their 350s are superior to 500s. Its a little comical.
The only thing comical here is some of your responses and how wound up you look on this GT350 forum especially when taking into consideration you have never had any skin but seem to have all of the answers for us previous and present GT350/R owners!

Still waiting for your reply to my earlier post whereby you can help all of us understand how much previous ownership experience that you have had with a Mustang Shelby GT350/R and what is your source of information for all of the failing FPC engines that you speak of?

Wound up? Thats interesting. I already posted several times on here that I like 350s and the voodoo its a cool idea Ford had, just has its inherent flaws.

Also this is the S550 general forums not the 350 section so check that please.

Im not hiding the football here dude, my sig is wide open for you to read. Ive owned several mustangs but not a 350. I spent about 6 months reserching 350s becuase it was my number one car to get next. I test drove two of them at local dealerships here in socal, cool cars. However every post I made every time i asked questions I got the same responses FROM 350 OWNERS. Get the Warranty, check the oil before every drive, drinking up to a quart per 1000 is normal, if your engine blows up its fine because then you get the better Gen 2 engine. At local car meets I would chat with 350 guys and many of them had issues too but they were fine with it because they loved the voodoo. But after that I was out.

Correct, so now the metric is I must own the vehicle to read and learn about it?

Gotta love some of these GT350/R none owners who decide to come on to this forum after which time they decide to help us understand what we have all been missing for the last ~11 years?

If this last generation of Mustang Shelby GT350/R models were such a disaster, why would the present values of these vehicles continue to climb and in many cases these used examples are selling for more than their original MSRP?

Must be a great deal of uneducated and stupid Mustang enthusiasts who have absolutely no idea what they are doing!

Solid point! but GT500s are the exact same way price wise, so it still an upgrade. I have also driven my buddys GT500 tons of fun.

Not saying it’s a requirement (I don’t own one), but I’m also not here spouting off on how the motor is a ticking time bomb and that everyone’s motor will grenade at some point. And then laughing at the notion of checking oil levels and letting the engine warm up before pushing it. As I said previously, that’s just good practice with any performance car.

Ford is aware of the flaws of the motor and so are the owners (and potential owners) of the cars. With proper care, the majority of the motors will be fine. There will be some that let go no matter how meticulous they are kept, but the same can be said for anything mass produced anymore.

I have researched these cars to death, driven several and talk to several owners of them that are local to me. Still not the same as owning one, but I do understand that the problems are not as rampant as some may believe. Every car has its shortcomings but for the 350’s and 500’s, the positives far outweigh those shortcomings in my opinion

The poll asked if the 500 was an upgrade to the 350, that’s it. No defining criteria, no objective data requirements, no metric, nothing, zilch, nada. You added defining criteria/metrics yourself because that’s how you personally define ā€œupgradeā€. And that’s cool too. But, users like myself who specifically demand a manual transmission, and/or, the absolute craziness of 8250rpm and the totally unique, metallic hammering Voodoo sound answered ā€œNoā€. Not right or wrong - Is.
Sound is a preference
Also RPM
just like Color
These can be used in a simple breakdown of 'do you like it it or not'.
One of my pet peeves is the fake exhaust holes in the rear bumper. This is preference and doesn't make a difference on the car as a whole when it come to the term Upgrade.

Your Mach1 will never be as well regarded as the GT350, it's OK that makes you upset.

Wider front fenders > your nasty plastic fender liner.
Lulz, I bought this car 2 months ago šŸ˜‚ I could have bought either one. Luckily my personal worth isnt tied to my car. Its fun to drive and I have quite enjoyed my short ownership experience. I can explain to you why I bought the Mach 1.

1. Engine wont go kaboom like the DooDoo
2. I love the digital dash
3. I like the updated LED Headlights
4. Downshift Rev match is great
5. HP Wheels are Fire

Wait a minute, I just realized because I personally like all these things better that means the Shelby is NOT an upgrade to the Mach 1!!!! YES!!!!!!

OR, Ford/Ford Performance wanted to keep it unique to quite possibly the last Shelby GT350 they manufacture.
I have a very hard time believing that Ford would do anything for nostalgia if it means not making profits for shareholders. If they knew a gazillion people would buy a car with a Voodoo and they made bank on each one, they'd be in every GT.

With respect to getting an extended warranty for what, a possible replacement FPC engine that doesn't exist?

Suggest that you need to do more research as many of your comments are so far off base they are hilarious such as using up to a quart of oil over 1,000 miles.

At the end of the day your comments are difficult to take seriously and can tell you without question that none of my GT350/R models had any blow by or oil consumption and regularly shifted all of them at the 8,250 RPM redline including my 2015 Race Red chassis which had 14,000 miles on the odometer when I sold it to a close friend and drove that vehicle to the limit on a regular basis.

Not sure how much profit there is in a $20k+ motor considering where prices of Dark Horse’s are. Prices already approach $80k, I’m not sure how much demand there would be for a $90k+ car with a motor that is synonymous with the GT350 in a car that realistically will not meet the expectations that come with that.
