Looking for owners have or had the AWE Touring cat back exhaust system installed.

- How is it aging
- Fit and Finish
- General consensus
- Anything I should be aware of

Thanks

(Not looking for everyone else's coyote exhaust opinions, just some real life experience with AWE Touring)

Thanks Crimson. Background is, I bought the car with a Corsa Extreme already in it and it's too much. So, pretty much anything is gonna be quieter. LTH are likely in the future.

I will be brutally honest. Cold starts are ear splitting backed into my garage. The exhaust is loud, but I has a nice tone to it. It does not drone on the highway but you can hear if. You can carry on a conversation easily enough while driving as well. Now keep in mind mine is a convertible so the sound in the cabin may be different. Fitment was A1, only thing I had to do was change out the clamps . i swapped them to the wide ,flat stainless band clamps , the ones that came with it I had a hard time keeping tight. Would I buy it again ? Probably lol there are lots of other options for a lower price , but do they sound as good I don’t know. Everyone I meet on a run says Damm your car sounds great!

I went catless LTH on my AWE Touring catbacks and it way too loud. Switched the catbacks back to stock exhaust and it was much better

So this was from past weekend car show. Made 797 whp SAE running about 13 psi gen 2 whipple. This was a 4th gear pull with 3.31 rear gear, up to 7,800 rpm for which I have tune to yank timing. E71 flex fuel blend with 21.5 timing commanded.

Kooks 1 7/8 with HO Green Cats into AWE Touring.

Start up is loud. Regular driving is rather tame with absolutely no drone. Partial throttle up to about 4,000 rpm has nice deep tone. WOT gets loud and more of a raspier note as you approach redline.

Overall happy.

Fitment is very good if you get the right installer to do it ensure it’s level etc.

Cold start gives a decent crack/bark.

Loud deep under acceleration , bit more violent above 4000rpm when your on it.

AWE use some of the thickest s/steel 16 guage I think so it contains the heat and wanted noises better .

No drone when cruising , see video attached.

with LTH I think it would be too extreme/loud. Those rear mufflers are not really mufflers they are drone cancelling units.

Previously had a Borla SType with X Pipe but didn’t like the rasp, AWE with H pipe is deeper more muscle car but high rpm still definitely coyote lol.

@Canadian Crimson Ear splitting is a good way to describe the Corsa in my garage. Good call on the clamps, I'll probably install it with better ones to begin with. Your last sentence tells me everything 👍, Thanks for sharing.

@Five_OhGT I'm coming from a Corsa Ext. with stock manifolds so it should knock it down enough for me at least. Thanks for sharing!

@stang17 Holy Shit! Awesome vid. No LTH here at the moment so that would tame it some. I actually don't mind the loud snappy/raspy coyote noises at higher RPMs, at least with the AWE Tour the 4k threshold is somewhat reasonable. The Corsa Ex is not. Thanks for the vid, looks like a good time.

@Robbo70 That's what I need, nice and reasonable when I want it to be, I've always like a lower note and this seems to meet all the requirements. Listening to music without blasting it is tough at the moment. I appreciate the video, thanks.

Thanks All!!

Fitment underneath, sits up nicely out of the way unlike some of the “cheaper” ones out there .. I lost 2” of ground clearance with the cheap one.

Oh yeah fitment was 100% even though “does not fit convertible models” only had to fab a spacer to drop my chassis braces.
