Switching from staggered to square. How will this affect the wheel fitment? And how can I retain the spacing between wheel and fender?

As long as 285/35 can fit on the 9.5" width then I feel like that might be the best in between option. You don't think it would bulge too much?
No its a little bulge but not bad. For the continentals though, I wouldnt really want to go oversize so maybe stick to the 275/40 plan. Thats the OEM rear size for PP1 cars too.

Dont sweat the guy talking about less grip with a narrower rear tire, that completely depends on exactly what tire your coming from. Tire model and rubber compound matter more than a 10% change in tire width.

What offset are your front 9.5” tires? Need to check that and make sure its suitable for the rear axle

I disliked those dws06+ continentals. Squishy sidewall made it slow to react to quick wheel inputs and floaty in the center of the corner. Not my flavor for a sports car. The regular contacts may be better.

You want to keep the overall wheel/tire diameter as close to factory as your car came if you don't want to mess with forscan or tuning to fix the speedometer. My car came with 19x8.5 square and 255/40/19. 40% of 255 is 102mm. I now run a 19x10 square setup with 285/35/19. 35% of 285 is 99.75mm. That's about as close as it gets to retaining the factory dimensions. My speedo is dead on with the GPS in my radar detector.

BTW those wheels look killer on there. I'd keep them too.

I would go with the 275/40. Fits a 9.5 better, same as stock rear tire size, better ride quality and will fill the wheel wells nicely. Don’t see any downside to the 275/40

The one downside is that due to the current ~inch drop. I have at most 1 inch of wheel well gap in the front and a little more on the back and with 275/40 id end up with .55" less gap in only the front.

Gotcha. You could go 265/40 all around and it would give you a little more gap. Or 285/35, would go Contis in that case they tend to run a little narrower.

My only issue is the contis tend to be a bit squirmy and soft in the sidewall. Thats great fro straight line and rain grip and ok on an equal rim or when stretched abit, but it can feel more mushy if you go oversized.

Probably fine though, give it a try.

This is what tiresize. com says it'll end up like. 285/35 seems to be almost the most similar in diameter and shape. 275/40 would be noticeably taller

Attached is a picture of the current wheel fitment. It is 275/35 r19 9.5" width front, 295/35 r19 11" width back. I am about to get wheel the same width as the front to do 275 all round because I'm dailying it and would like to save some money on tires as the current stance is really pricy to do and limiting on type of tires I can get.
What I want to know is will putting 275/35 r19 on the backs ruin the tire spacing due to the change in sidewall ratio? What can I do to retain the spacing. One extra note is that the back tires are pretty stretched on the wheels. Also, from the previous owner, the car is lowered about 1" on Steeda Bump Stop Kit (I don't have the other bump stops) on the Front and the Steeda S550 Mustang Handling Suspension package.
What are my options if the new tires will affect the gap like I think it will?

I'm new to the car scene, so apologies for being naive. All advice is helpful.
Thank you

As stated by NightmareMoon 19x10 square with a Conti Dw06 285/35/19 would be a nice daily driving setup.
Just installed Conti ECS02s in 285/35/19 on 10" square wheels (Ford Performance PP2 style wheels) on 25mm spacers front and rear. Like, literally just lowered the car after installing the tires. I need to program the new TPMS sensors, but things look really good. I'll try to get a photo of fitment today. There's definitely some poke in the rear, so I may remove the spacers before alignment on Tuesday.
