Ah I'm almost embarrassed that I asked now haha. I was looking at everything except that, didn't see any marks on the front bumper so figured it wasn't that.

that's what I was hoping for, so you could see how let down I was finding its a front license plate holder. Lol.

If I ever need to mount the front license plate, in the absence of a tow hook (to install a tow hook bracket), I'd just shape it like the bumper, slap double-sided tape in several places, and just put paste it on the bumper. No way I'd ever drill it, but that's just me .
