The head of Corvette development has been on the record numerous times, there will be no manual for the C8 generation. They designed the car to be DCT only. Kinda crazy to think buts it most likely the C7 will be the last Corvette ever produced with a manual. The C9 will likely be full EV and no transmission (and no V8).

Itā€™s one of the reasons I cancelled my 2020 C8 deposit and bought a GT350. I am not ready to give up the manual..

The automobile industry as a whole is moving in a different direction in which the manual transmission is fading quickly like the dinosaur and the dodo. I am one of the remaining dinosaurs who had a little intuition that 2020 would be the last year of the GT350. The C8 possibly with a 5.5 liter FPC engine setup will be a beast no doubt. However, ask yourself how important a manual transmission is to you, and how much you are willing to spend on the C8 with the FPC as my suspicion is that you will not get out of the dealerā€™s parking lot without dropping 150k minimum on this version with the anticipated ADM markup. Chevy has already hinted at a price increase for the MY2021 of which seems inevitable. Either way you go you will have something special, so all the best in your journey.
A manual is a puristā€™s love... unfortunately, the Z06 will likely have only an auto. The manual would be nice but is no necessity.

I have an inside perspective and the Z06 has been pushed back to 2022 MY and will likely appear next year.

I can wait. Iā€™m in no rush. I have a pristine 2012 B302 to enjoy in the meantime.

Been a while since Iā€™ve been here but miss my 16 GT350R. Itā€™s in good hands now.

Considering a 2020 GT350/R in Iconic Silver, or simply waiting for the upcoming Z06.

Now, before all you fine chaps start hacking at me for comparing the two, realize this... Iā€™ve had one FPC and Iā€™d simply like to experience another... and possibly a mid-engine variant without the Ferrari sticker shock.

Anyways, good to be back and hanging out with you guys.
Hi Fred and great to see you back on the Mustang6 forum and hope all is well with you and your family!

I had a call from a Ford dealership a couple of weeks ago and not all that far from you that has a 2020 R on their showroom floor and they had it at priced with a $10K ADM but spoke with him again late last week and they have dropped their price to MSRP.

Unfortunately not in Iconic Silver but in FP Blue with Black stripes and the Electronic Package and looks terrific.

In any event welcome back!

Understood and good luck as there will not be many allocations forth coming for 2020 R models based on the FRAP not opening up until late May with just one shift and this being the very last year of the R model with R model production being cut back significantly for this last model year.

Ive been thinking about trading my car in for a gt350/R, new gt500 or C8 Z51 for awhile now. But im starting to lean more on just saving money for 2-3 years until the C8 grand sport or the C8 Z06 come out. Although it is too early to tell, they are saying the grand sport is going to be 600hp N/A and the Z06 like 800hp. They are going to be absolute crazy cars. Even if the grand sport costs 85k starting, with 600 hp N/A its going to be a blast to drive. Only time will tell.

I honestly love my B302. I may just make a few upgrades and then save up for a Z06. Youā€™d get a kick outta my B302... it was a Canuck build.

Shop for a lightly used R at a great price to hold you over until the Z06 hits the dealer lots. At that point you will not have lost your shirt selling a 1 yro car you purchased new.

Very simple for me...
I donā€™t fit in the C8. Plus the GT350 has enough room to disappear for a few week road trip.

Or we could do a Mustang owner's list stereotype, and it would be much worse than your list.
Agreed. I'd rather be stereotyped as an old white dude wearing jorts than someone who will plow into a crowd of people due to poor driving skills.
