!!! IMPORTANT !!!

Like YLA G said, please don't cut the cables of the new Side marker, the Electronic is inside !

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This are the US version of the sidemarkers. When I placed my order, the EU version was not yet available.
For that, I ordered the connectors separately.

Here are the connectors I ordered, everything is plug & play :

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

First of, you need to remove the ugly side marker you have on the car. With your hands alone it's difficult to remove them, you need a flat pliers to pinch the support so it goes out.

After that, you have to remove the matte and the plastic cover in the trunk to have access inside the trunk and to have access to the tail lights connector.

At this time, you can see the 2 Rubber joints at the bottom of the trunk, that's the way to put the cables out of the trunk.

At this time, pull the cables out of the trunk.

You can find them now under the car

Starting to connect the markers to the tail lights connector, For me I put one cable to the Black cable (ground) and the other to the Green w/ Brown line (+12v when parking lights are on)

After that, you have all the cables in the middle of the trunk, plug now (+) with (+) and ground with ground

I used a domino to wire everything together and then added electrical tape around every connector

That's how I putted the cables under the car, sorry for the crappy pics but it was really difficult to have good pics while lying under the car
Follow the white cable

When I lift the car up to change my wheels, I'll fix the cables better than now.

Then plug the connector to the side markers

Finally, you already know what it looks like :headbang:

Hope this will help.

Cheers

Good job as always! Seems relatively easy, thanks for the tutorial.

I only had a little thrill seeing a 220v cable used for that

However you have almost convinced me to order these led side markers

Once you know where to route the cables and where to connect them, yea it's really easy indeed.

 That was the rest of the cables I used when I made the tribar. It's a flexible 220v cable and work very well :D

This is the US version, when I placed my order, the EU version was not yet available.
For that, I ordered the connectors separately.

So the connection should be a bit different with the EU connector.

thanks, but the EU wire harness is an option on these or it's a separate version?
I should check on DD website..
From what I see, all the side markers on the sites above are only US version.
The EU wire harness is only available by diode dynamics.

EU Version : http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...5-2016-ford-mustang-eu-au-pair/category/1475/

US Version : http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...or-2015-2016-ford-mustang-pair/category/1475/

Wiring Harness only for EU version : http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...ford-mustang-sidemarkers-eu-au/category/1474/

I wonder what that EU harness will look like, especially if it contains a complete tail light connector.

+1

And I hope for all you that DD took care that the tail light plug is not the same on the EU 'Stang for this new connector ...

Does anyone have any info or a link etc for the type of socket I need to source i.e. the bulb holder originally supplied on the end of the ford loom ?

I only need the bulb holders at this point.

Thanks,
