Any reason you could not have reused/sleeved your old block ?
Last time I looked though the Gen 3 blocks were relatively cheap .

Pardon me if this a dumb question , as you know I have a technical disability , burbdid the bent rod cause the “spun “ rod bearings or vice versa ?

Any idea what caused the rod to bend ?

Assuming it didnt hydrolock, sounds like they are overpowering the rods. Interesting you never hear a 15-17 bend the rods, wonder why they made them weaker..

I wonder if there was a bad batch? I thought the rods were the same 15-19. But it's crazy you have a couple running 8', a bunch running low 9's and everyone else who FI with gen3 running mid 9's to low 10's unless you running a roush lol. Well it cost me 14000 not including pulling and putting it back in. Witch wont be bad as I'm getting some help.

They did not "make them weaker". The rods are the same exact rods used in the Boss 302 (same part number actually) and are arguably the strongest rod ever put in a mustang other than the 03/04 Terminator rod.

They are tough AF and if you bend one under 900whp, something is wrong in the tune up, the fuel, something......

The rod is bending from the broken piston/ring land scoring/gouging the cylinder bore immediately slowing down the piston placing undue pressure on the rod.

The piston is failing first causing the rod to fail.... Gauranteed.

Nah. It under new ownership. Todd baught his brother out. Completely diffrent shop now. I usually do things myself. But when I cant they have done me right everytime.

@gimmie11s if it not enough fuel then whipple needs to change their kit. Because that's what you get in a stage2 kit.
