The comfort setting on the steering negates some of the tram-lining issue... good alignment and more streetable tires help too.

In every other respect the car is amazing IMO.... I'm about 2k miles into a 2019 gt350 and LOVE it, especially on track.

Agreed, definitely not SC2's.

I think for me the issue was tramlining (expected and accustomed to this) as well as the suspension being so tight that the car felt like it was bouncing down the road. I've experienced the same feeling when I rode in a Honda Civic with cut springs.
that's odd... my first drive in mine i felt it was softer/smoother than I expected in normal mode... spent 6+ hours in it one day mostly highway and it was IMO comfortable especially considering what it's designed to do...

I do remember that the car had what seemed like an excessive amount of negative camber.

It was almost visually distracting when looking at the car.

I've driven mine w/ stock camber, -2.6 camber and now with -3.9 camber... the ride quality is same for all 3, but it's been on diff roads so unsure if tramlining is getting worse or better with those changes... also the most recent move to -3.9 changed toe from 1/8 in to zero... so i think that may help a little too... rear camber was stock then -2.5... not sure that part makes nearly as much difference though...

I'll be happy to start a thread in the 350 section. There were no generalizations in my assertions, I made direct comments attempting to understand if the observed driving characteristics were normal for the car. Nothing more.
I read your OP in context with your thread title, apologies if I misunderstood...

In any case, I’m a big proponent of getting facts to the masses. Take a look at the GT350 Basics sticky in my sig. There’s a section on what’s considered normal and tramlining is a characteristic for sure.

I hope you get a chance to drive another.

i test drove a new 2018 velocity blue gt pp1 A10 last yr before testing out a used 2017 grabber blue gt350. ended up buying an R :like:

if you want to minimize tramlining, swap out the tires. that makes the biggest difference.

but there is something quite special about cruising at 4k rpms and then realizing you're not even 1/2 way to redline. :sunglasses:

Let's be Frank, (Or Bob) Seriously, who wouldn't want a GT350. You might not like driving it everyday, everywhere, but who wouldn't want one?

Before I bought my new GT I took the chance to look at everything available that interested me since every car that I've owned in this category for the last 10+ years has been Mustangs only. So I test drove a Challenger SRT, Camaro SS, 2016 Mustang GT, GT350, and my 2019 Mustang GT.

I liked the speed and power (torque) of the Camaro and the way it put that power down to the road. It was confidence inspiring in the curves and easy to drive fast. I did not like the feeling I was sitting way down inside it and that positioning made the car feel very large in a way with the poor visibility. Changing lanes became a gambling sport. I was out.

When I drove the GT350 I had read heard so much about it I had really high expectations and in some ways those expectations were nailed down solid. The exhaust note and shifting of this car are both fantastic. The transmission in the GT350 should absolutely be in the GT, or at least an option. The car I drove had the Recaro's are they were horrible. I've been into bodybuilding/powerlifting for quite some time and there is no way I was fitting in between those seat bolsters. It seemed so unbelievably small. Anyway, on to the handling of the car. When I put the car hard into a corner it was impressively grippy. The trade off was that the car felt nervous af driving down the interstate, literally you could feel the front end hopping as we went over bumps on the highway. I had to make many, many corrections to the steering wheel to keep the car driving straight in the short 3 mile ride down the highway, to the point I knew there was NO WAY I could live with this car for the long term and I instantly understood another reason why these cars almost always have low mileage....it was a pain to keep it going straight down the road lol

All of the aforementioned as well as the price tag is what ultimately put me into a new GT as opposed to what had been a dream car of mine for quite some time, and I have to say I'm super comfortable with my purchase choice given the driving characteristics of the GT350 I did drive. I know for a fact I couldn't handle that thing on a daily basis even if I switched out the seats.

Question for you guys that have or have driven a GT350:
Is my experience like yours or did I just happen to drive one that had something wrong with it?
I just bought a 2019 GT350 for about 1700 under invoice. It had the upgrade leather seats so it is way more comfortable than my 2015 Z/28 with Recaros. As for handling I find it very tame on both the side roads and highway - yes my experience is different than yours. Of course i’m coming from a Z/28 that is more track oriented. However I have read that it seems to track to the groves more than a Mustang GT.

Of course you can, you can compare anything you want. I compared new gt vs used GT350 and for about 7k difference I found more value in the 350.
Well I guess for even less money and better value, you can also go pick up a Fox and build it got$30k and run circles around both cars. There has to be context for comparisons. $7,000 is a lot of money, and even if your gt350 was on the low end $50,000 that's still a huge jump to make from a $43,000 car.

It’s the seat of your pants that make you happy and or not so much. I have owned the C4 Corvette Z06s, C5,C6 and most recently the Stingray with the Z51 package. I just last year sold both of my Hellcats Challenger and Charger 2016 models. Then last summer picked up a Focus RS (what a blast) as well as a used GT350. I went to the Ford Dealer my favorite one and was planning on buying a 2018 GT Mustang with the 10speed auto and love that tranny. The dealer had just taking in a freshly used 17 GT350 blue and all the sales guys persuaded me to buy her. And of course their is someone else there just hoping I don’t buy it and adds to the pressure of do I walk and or buy. So of course I buy her feeling don’t want to miss the used deal. And after owning her for 7 months and putting less than 1000 miles on her I traded her back in for a 2019 GT PP1 with Magna Ride Auto Orange Fury. And many may say your crazy but the 350 just did not fit the seat of my pants. The 6 speed manual and truly high revs to get her going and the active exhaust cut out once you hit 6th gear. And the cloth seats were tight being the Recaro and no heated seat nor cooling seats and or leather. The bigger tires do make the car a little more radical in lousy road conditions since she will walk. So not here BASHING the 350 just sharing my own seat of the pants story and I have put over 3k miles in less than 3-4 months on my Orange Fury.

The GT350 is not going to be for everybody (one of the reason it's so appealing), it's a car that needs involvement and attention, it's not a laid back cruiser where you just hit the gas and let the computers do the rest for you.

Other than busy steering in every day driving, what do computers do for you on every other than that they don't do for you on the GT350? The electronics packages are all the same when it comes to stability, traction, and braking.

That being said, I love the GT350. If I could have come close on a used one to what I paid for my 18 GT PP I would have definitely bought one, but the price delta was just over $12k.

Anyway, I fully understand the seats thing btw. They're perfect...if they're perfect for you. Several owners have switched out their seats or have gone with different packages due to not fitting into them.

Knock it off. There’s no need to go full retard.

I think there context is your preferences and desires. I’m used to European cars like my last R8. I’m used to high revs for power, so for me, the 350 is the budget choice. Whatever you choose, best of luck.
