Pi day tomorrow...

Thinking about getting into a Raspberry pi. Microcenter usually sells them for $3.14 tomorrow I think. Any other geeks out there messing around with these little 'puters?

I'm thinking I'm going to get into that or an Arduino (similar or same? not sure) for a project to light up behind my monitor.

I think Arduino is more for targeted projects whereas Raspberry Pi is more of a ultracheap general purpose computer -- but I haven't messed with either yet. There is so much cool crap nowadays that $50 and an internet connection can get you. That should be pretty awesome. I'm not familiar with the adafruit code, but it looks similar to python, which is a great easy-to-use language.

My son's birthday is on Pi Day so its funny to see someone else that mentions it. My other son's birthday is on well 4/20. You can imagine which son is proving to be the handful

Here I thought you would be talking about actual pie on pi day. I had a piece of strawberry pie on the boss's dime to celebrate.

I think I prefer that over the gizmo, but good luck with it!

I'm hoping for some chocolate pie later. But, as everytime I get in the car the suspension squeaks and groans, i should probably pass on the pie.
