My father-in-law has purchased several Ford trucks over the last 7 or so years. I’m thinking he probably could get some private cash if he called Ford and asked.

My wife and I still have his address on our drivers licenses. My wife also still has her maiden name on hers. So, I’m wondering if we would be able to use the private cash offer since we have proof of residency. Or if the offers are only good for the actual person it was sent to. I don’t need or want him on the loan so having him co-sign to save a little money is probably not in the cards. Anyone know how private cash works?

Here's the fine print from a Private Cash offer I got last April 4 "*2017/2018/2019 vehicles: $1,000 on F-150 and Super Duty. $750 on most Ford or Lincoln vehicles. Not available on Ford GT, F-150 Raptor, Focus RS, Mustang Shelby® GT350/350R and 2018 Lincoln Navigator. May not combine with other private, conquest or commercial offers. A/Z/D Plan ineligible. Nontransferable out of household. Limit one per household. U.S. residents. Must redeem using original offer; no duplicates accepted. Prior purchases not eligible. Take new retail delivery from an authorized Ford or Lincoln Dealer's stock by 7/9/18. See dealer for details."

The hard part will be getting an offer from Ford. They mostly only give it out when they need a bump in unit sales, like towards the end of a fiscal quarter, or when certain regions have too much inventory and they want to thin it out. March is probably the best chance month, when they want to sell into the peak auto sales period. I'm on their email list and I've requested brochures from the web site as others suggested, definitely do that if you want a coupon. Even if they don't give you one now, they might next time they send some out.

Thanks for the info! So I guess come Feb or so I’ll start requesting brochures and such. Have you tried calling? I’ve read threads on here where people have gotten cash that way as well. I’m not 100% I’m buying new yet either. It’ll take a smoking good deal. Otherwise it’s low mileage used with extended warranty (although that’s happening either way).

While we've "patiently" been waiting on our GT/CS to be built... we had a $1,000 private cash expire and a $1,000 military cash expire.... hoping there's a $1,500 rebate and at least a $500 military offer still available when it ever gets here...
For members of USAA, you can get a $250 cash off certificate from them (even if you don't use the car buying service).
We ordered 08/03/18... who would have thought it wouldn't get here till 2019?! :curse:

Don't know... ours showed up in the mail. Our car is finally at the dealer - 5 months + 1 day... lost the private cash, $250 from USAA, the $1000 military is now $500... so I'm not real pleased that we don't have that $1500 towards the car, but it is what it is...

Where did they get your address? I've tried the "Get a brochure" path, but all I can come across is links to download it that don't even ask for my email.

Apparently depends on the region you live in... they have our address - we bleed blue here, this'll be the 5th pony plus the F350...

Ours is here, so I have spent the last couple days rounding everything up - my dealer has a $2k rebate and I have $500 military cash (they have it for students, first responders & veterans) ... that's all I have come up with. There are some "VIN specific" rebates of $500, but it depends on the dealership, so I'll see tomorrow if we qualify. That's all that's out there...
