What up everyone. So I have an 15 Gt with the Paxton Blower 2200 and sai li fuel , 18 manifold with mmr delete and 3.31 rear in a manual trans. Car runs great made 770 whp on 11lbs of boost on E85 Had this set up since 4K miles car currently has 15k miles.

My recent problem is I use to have breathers on the valve cover but the driver side was saturated so I ordered an upr catch can for both sides. With in the last 1000miles I have been filling the catch can up in 2 highway pulls 40-140 mph in Mexico of course. I have a shift light set at 7200 probably more like 7400 by the time I shift. I did a compression text on the car and 7 cylinders are at 179-183 the other cylinder is at 210. I am guessing the 210 is cause there is oil in that cylinder. I would like to get some reassurance to what you guys think the problem is? Any help would be great!!! Ringland? Leave it alone?

Thanks

Seems like 160-180 is pretty normal for these so you might be ok.

My experience is that it's obvious when there's a problem. Either they'll all the at 80 or you'll have a couple in the <50 range.

Keep sending it... Mine has started pushing a little out the drivers side breather also, may add a breather on the oil fill cap also soon.

Below are my pressures I tested when mine had a ton of blowby. Ended up breaking the ring lands on cyl. 7&8. Engine ran find and was smooth, oil was black as could be. Whats your oil look like? Sounds like your rings are getting weak or something is wrong. With my new shortblock, I have a catchcan and barely get any blowby. A little residue in can after 4000 miles.

1 - 230
2 - 225
3 - 220
4 - 240
5 - 235
6 - 210

7 - 105
8 - 140

My oil looks fresh like from a can I run 0-20 Mobil 1 probably gonna switch and order 10-30 Amsoil . When you say a ton of blow by, I fill the catch can in 2 pulls and when I release the gas on the end of second run through my catch can breather I get oil that hits my windshield . I wasn’t sure if capping the breather would be any better Or worse for the engine. Where did u purchase your short block at? Why not fix your stock block?

mmr racing out of california is where I bought the shortblock from. I didn't rebuild my shortblock because it's easier to order a new one with brand new rotating assembly already installed, balanced, etc. You can't cap the breathers. If you have that much blowby your engine is damaged. With it idling, remove the oil cap. Is it puffing fumes out the oil fill hole with each engine rotation? If so, then somethings effed.

oil on windshield = she broke

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there no sugar coating that.

She likely had broken the middle ring land on 1 or 2 slugs.

Two pulls and you fill the catch can? 179 really isn't that bad for a compression test but something is very wrong. Try doing a compression test again or with a different tester (Autozone rents them for free). It really sounds like a ring. Make sure you crank all the cylinders the same amount of time.

With that much blow by I would not leave it alone.

fuel rails run in series?
Or two tees or y s on main feed then feed front and rear of each rail?

If series, make sure fuel feeds 8 first then the rest.
Better yet, don’t run series.

Rings are gone. I was running a 300 shot on my 95. When I ran the car hard. There was so much blowby it would coat the hood. Im suprised with that much blow by. Your not seeing a power loss. I lost half a second of et. But like you a compression test had all cylinders at an acceptable compression.

Thanks for the replies everyone I am gonna lower the boost to like 8lbs and add some thicker oil hopefully can drive it till November like this. Looks like a short blocks will do the trick most likely will give jpc a call see what they charge for a short block.

JPC has very fair pricing and turnaround time for built shortblocks. Reach out to Eric he put several quotes together for me when I was shopping around.

Ok guys some update. So I swapped my e85 tune and put my 93 tune and lowered the boost to 10lbs vs 11lbs spring, changed the oil to 10-40 Mobil one Vsa 5-20 Mobil 1. Now about 250 miles later and probably 5 pulls to 140 in Mexico of course my catch can is empty. Does this sound correct? Just confused that e85 can screw up the oil that much and give me that much blow by!!

What 10w40 is it? I’m not seeing that grade on the mobil1 site.
