Did this...just a FYI, this method totally eliminates alarm. I thought it would desensitize panic button a little, not so lol. The only time I ever used alarm was by accident, so I'm OK with it deleted.
Guess it depends on how much you melt off? I didn't want the alarm at all so melting it to completely disable it works for me.

may be a dumb question but if the alarm goes off when the alarm button has been disabled...are you able to turn the alarm off with lock/unlock buttons or do you have to push the alarm button? i never have and probably never will push the alarm button on purpose but i dont want to be stuck with the alarm going off and not be able to turn it off

I finally got sick of finding trunks inadvertently opened . . . in addition to alarms going off just because I bent down a bit 'wrong'.

So a couple of years ago I'd finally had enough . . . a little stiff plastic, trimmed and superglued in place with little slits for thumbnail operation of the trunks when I really do want to use the fob to open it. No, I don't care too much what they look like because they're either in my pocket or in the ignition switch where I don't see them anyway.

OP is from SD. I think it's required by law to carry a wheelgun out there .44 mag or larger.
Actually, anything is acceptable. I prefer a Glock 23, .40 cal.

Now I have my alarm disabled. Instead of the flat washer, I cut a rubber grommet down and placed it under the outer button (around the cross).

This is why I carry a gun. No need to push a button hoping for help. God bless Texas.

Don’t know why I’m doing this but I had the larger Glock 22 (another 40cal truncated cone bullet, police service weapon at the time) and it was the most inaccurate gun I owned. One guy from West Germany and in “the service” could keep them in the black when I took him out to go shooting. I had to use this Colt Anaconda with a friggin rail on top to beat him. For me revolvers are more accurate. Can also shoot them when a slide would hang up... ;)

As for the fob it happened to me often. Depends on the shape of the keys and one was always responsible when the horn went off!

Alarm on this car is a real nuisance, too bad it's not on it's own circuit or would have pulled the fuse and disabled the whole piece of crap.
