It has nothing to do with that. A '69 Boss 302 or 429 will still go for more than a new S550 too, and the S550 is better in every measurable way. It has to do with 'last of a breed' and also a special factory hot rod that was limited edition. Nobody can tell the future but it seems safe to assume that a Boss 302 MAY hold its value a little better in the long run than an off the lot S550.

To collectors it's all about numbers. How many boss 302's were made? How many S550's were made? And ya gotta admit. That is a sweet ass car in that photo.

I'd really reconsider what you mean by inferior. It's quicker in the 1/4 mile and about as good on a road course.

Heck, an Ecoboost would keep up with a Boss 429 but which would you rather have?

Most people would say that a Boss 302 was a lot more interesting than a standard GT...I'm one of those people :)

I hate s197s but that boss is a mich more fun car to drive imo. Revs for days and just a more visceral driving experience. Inferior? Maybe in technology but a laguna seca can hold its own against an s550 pp pretty much

I love it, that being said I can't afford it.
Price is about where they were new.

Clean black low mile Boss Leguna Seca... I think it's a fair advertised price. I want it. Hehe.

That car doesn't have a back seat and yes the dealer will get over 40K for it.

Not for a laguna seca. Generally they were sticker plus markup.

If a really good deal dropped in my lap for a 13 boss i would buy one. They really are very fun cars to drive. More than my 15 gt was

I would 110% buy that Laguna Secs over a new S550. Gorgeous car!
