Hi All,

Just over 2 years ago zackmd1 has a made tutorial showing how to install the PP gauges into standard model...

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38818

To summarize 30 pages and the status of both gauges after wiring them:
 • GT & EB: The oil pressure gauge will work after a tune.

 • V6: The oil pressure gauge will work after a tune BUT the cluster will show "LOW OIL PRESSURE" error

A few days ago I found the solution to overcome the low oil pressure error on my V6....It's a very simple change in the IPC programming, took me a long time to figure it out though lol

I basically changed the as-built data bit in the IPC which controls how the IPC detects the engine oil pressure, there are 2 options - CAN and HW...all the S550s have a default option of CAN, so I simply changed it to HW and now the IPC doesn't know anything about the oil pressure therefore it's not throwing any errors.

The change I made is:
IPC As-built programming
720-02-01: XXXX XXXX X7

Big thanks to Mike from MPT for the tune file!

So does this mean you still need the tune if your a v6 owner?

Thestangb, great summary...m still reading the 30 pages, but I also completed the swap yesterday on my EB premium without PP. I don't have a hand held tuner, but I did upload the Ford Performance Pack tune. Any thoughts how I can get a correct file update into my PCM?
TIA

I hate to be that guy, but have read through all 30 pages again....

For:
"GT: Both gauges will work without tune."

specifically a 2015 GT Premium installing just PP gauges (not EB/Vac-boost gauges)...
after this 4 pin wiring:

Once you have gathered all parts you can start the install process. The wiring consists of 4 wires, all of which can be tapped into from the OEM APIM (sync) connector. 2 are power, positive can be tapped into from pin 1 on the APIM connector while ground can be pin 37( for premium owners) or pin 38 (for base model owners). The remaining 2 leads are for HS1 CAN. These can be tapped into from pin 53 for high (pin 53 APIM to pin 2 on connector) and pin 54 for low (pin 54 APIM to pin 3 on connector)

Once complete, it still must be tuned?
Is that a dealer updated "tune"/ updated programming OR a tuner like SCT tune?

Will dealerships know how to do this, or so I need to walk them through it?

Hope this will help me and other GT's just wanting PP gauges to function...

You don't need this for the EB

The GT does not need a tune for the oil pressure gauge to work, it should work after wiring the gauges

great news. my plan then:
splice/tap
PIN 1 : APIM 1 (Power +)
PIN 2 : APIM 53 (CAN +)
PIN 3 : APIM 54 (CAN - )
PIN 4 : APIM 37 (Gnd - )

and trim center vent... anything else needed?

"My color" is controlled with the CAN signal correct?

NOTE FOR RESEARCHERS --- again this is for a 15' GT Premium

Needed, because the oil pressure is dead, and zack reply to the need:headbonk:
You need a tune to make the gauge work, you don't need the as-built data change since your cluster will not throw any errors

You need your tuner to send you a tune revision with the oil pressure enabled
