It's been a while since we've had a new rumor to talk about so I'll throw this one out there.

Rear-wheel steering.

Interesting. That was one of my guesses when it was suggested the car has a killer new performance feature. My other guess was an advanced electronically controlled rear diff and traction/stability control that works well in concert with the DCT... the R&D done on the RS possibly being the starting point. Everything else seems fairly "pie in the sky" unrealistic.
At this point my only other guess would be a surprising amount of lightweight materials and lower then expected weight.
The idea of an in-line (or 48v starter style) hybrid drive has been completely shut down for this generation... correct?

Hey guys, I heard that the GT500 went solid axle in order to save weight!

Also, it will use regular Mustang GT brakes and the 6R transmission.

What are the chances the GT500 will be at the New York Auto Show? I would book a flight if they (Ford) would announce or hint at a debut. Any strong rumors of this happening?

I don't see it happening, I mean, maybe they tease something, who knows....

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT, however based on information about the car being barely in Verification Prototype during this time of the year, I can't imagine how they would do it.

For us to have a glimpse of the final product we will need to wait until (AT LEAST) the Tooling Trial units are out for marketing. I don't remember who said it (sorry I have a very bad memory) but someone mentioned something about the TT event happening at the end of the Q3 of this year, so Las Vegas or Los Angeles would be a perfect place for it's reveal (IN MY OPINION... well, Detroit seems likely as well).

I think I read it on Facebook, but it was the guy that was at the event at the Product Development Centre where the Need For Green car was photographed. He said they'd shown the GT500, but the car wasn't a driver.....so possibly a clay model? That tells me it's not going to appear at a show for quite a while.....
