How good is the stock intake?

From the outside appearance, just add an aftermarket air filter and your good to go. But after taking look at the inside not so much!

Yes, smooth surfaces free of Slag and sharp edges.

i bet someone at FP sat down with a pen and paper and took 100 hours drawing and testing it and after barrels of strong coffee said "this is our final draft, we're gonna mass produce this one".. never underestimate oem parts. after-market stuff requires way less time and testing to make

We were very surprised to see the inside of the tube when we finally got our hands on one.

The fabric looking material is actually the carbon trap for emissions, which was put right in line with the MAF housing. What people don't know about what goes into the OEM design is all of the regulations they have to follow from not only emissions, but clearance of parts in the engine bay and even things like gap from the air box to the hood in case of contact with a human body in a collision.

Pretty insane.

Another side note we are currently working on getting all of our intake systems CARB compliant, testing is starting very soon. It's a long process, but it will be worth it!
